Insurance is getting out of hand

Last year my 2020 LR3 was insured with APIA for $961; this year they want $1165 (an increase of 21% - no claims etc). They also decreased the 'Amount Covered' by 10%. That all smells of daylight robbery. I have a replacement quote from Allianz for $880 with an increased 'Agreed Value'. Guess...

Are there any wrecked Model 3 AWD LR around?

I'm looking for a front wiring harness for a Model 3 AWD LR (specifically ASY, HARN,FRONT,AP/EU,RHD,AWD,COIL 2567964-87-B). Tesla Australia seem unable to locate this part. Anyone know where I can source it?

    Tesla Destination Connector Problem

G'day, I have a problem with 3 phase Tesla connectors wired as single phase. Specifically those at RACV Noosa; I get 16 AMP but I notice Rod Peachey P100D gets 32 AMP. My Tesla is a '14 model S with a single charger. Anyone else have this problem?

    TOCA Membership

It appears my TOCA membership has already expired. Can anyone think of a reason to renew this? All interactions with other Tesla owners are done on TMC (here), Tesla Australia (Slack) and Tesla Queensland (WhatsApp). I think, unless someone has a good reason for me to cough up more dollars...

    Tesla Whack a Mole

On the recent Brisbane - Melbourne - Brisbane trip, the 'grab the wheel' popup irresistibly reminds me of 'Whack a Mole'. Sometimes I get a proper score (before the white surround) and some times a side (after the white); but always before the tone - after all who wants to be knocked out of the...

    Home and Tesla Swap

During June/July 2016, Tom from Sunnydale CA and I from Brisbane Australia swapped Teslas and homes for three weeks. This worked very well for both of us - see Home and Tesla swap . I am now interested in swapping to the UK or Ireland June/July 2017 - any takers?

    Frunk/Froot problem

Shut the front lid on an esky that was just a little too big. Lid caught on the first catch but wouldn't shut far enough for the second catch. Problem was: It wouldn't open either from the fob or screen. The screen indicated it was already open. Eventually sat on it and used the fob to open...

    Autopark Problem - Beware

Went to autopark (parallel) yesterday; wife driving so I had a good view of the front corner. Parking behind a small truck with an extended tray just at the level of the top of the front corner. The car would have hit the back corner of the had we not aborted the park. The truck was a similar...

    Nag on Lane Change

I have noticed that a lane change on autopilot always, unless you have moved the wheel in the last 20 seconds, prompts for a wheel grab. Now, while in the US recently and having driven a Model S for over 3000 miles, I didn't see that behaviour at all. Question (particularly to those who have...

Interesting Trip - but not in Oz

We just got back to Sunnyvale CA after a week long trip to Vegas, Grand Canyon, LA and back to Sunnyvale. Added over 3,000 km to Tom's P85D. Was a good run except for a total car failure on day 1. The lane holding (AP) doesn't work as well here as in Oz. Good fun cruising down the freeways at...

    Model X

We had a test drive in a Model X today with the following impressions compared to our S: Was a bit rougher but that could have been the low profile tyres. Was quieter that the P85D we are using here but similar to our 85. Son (at 188 cm) complains of hitting head in the S didn't have that...

With all this discussion of long distance driving, I have a technical question for those of you who know a bit about Solar Panels (I don't as I currently live in an apartment and nowhere to put any). Is there any way to connect (how many) panels together to produce circa 40 AMP, 240 V AC so...

    Problem with RHD accelerator position.

In the Right Hand Drive Model S there is a hard piece of trim next to the accelerator (see photo). When one floors the accelerator wearing shoes with an "edge", that edge will get stuck under the trim (see photo 2). and one will head for the horizon at a great speed - BEWARE!
