Huh? He wrote today: ”My guess right now based on 12 hours at Lathrop & local info… $TSLA is currently making up to 5 Megapack XL at Lathrop a day. Yesterday they trucked out 5 while I was there.”

Based on my reading, the video was sponsored by a wealthy Finnish person who ownes a kind of a supermarket chain ("Kärkkäinen") and is anti-EV. He also is openly against covid-vaccines and advises his personnel not to vaccinate themselves and has given a discount on printers to facilitate the...

Do you have a take on (or can you take a look at) DefiChain? Most cryptocurrencies are Turing complete, resulting in a large attack vector surface for hackers. DefiChain (DFI) is a hard fork of Bitcoin and Turing non-complete which increases its security but limits its use and makes it a more...

    Off topic galore

Tesla manual recommends lubricating brake pads every year or X number (dont remember the figure) of miles if the car is driven on salted roads. Otherwise the brakes are prone to corrosion. Rutine lubrication is not necessary if the car is driven on non-salted roads. I live in Finland where we...

There is a Tesla shop for several European countries. Search Google for "Tesla shop [country]" where [country] is replaced with the local name for the target country. For instance, "Tesla shop Sverige" returns the link for the Swedish store and "Tesla shop Suomi" returns the link for the Finnish...

A VW fan claimed on Twitter that they are holding back deliveries because a software update is not ready and the ID vehicles can't yet do OTA updates. They are supposed to restart deliveries when the update has been done using a physical connection. Don't know if this is accurate or not.

Fine, reasonable enough. The article would then have been better served with discussion about safety as well as numbers about potentially existing and planned capacity as well as estimates on prices and/or price development. The transportation issue in the article seems like a straw man fallacy...

The article focuses especially on the problem of hydrogen transportation which does indeed kill hydrogen cars together with poor efficiency. However, coupling the hydrogen storage and consumption units locally to large windmill sites and/or a large solar farms would take away the need to...

Fuel cells for cars have been discussed extensively here and the common sentiment is that they are clearly inferior to electric cars. However, I haven't seen much nearly as much discussion about hydrogen with regard to clean energy storage on an industrial scale. I read an article today on a...

2012; It's impossible to scale manufacturing as fast as Tesla is suggesting! (Elon Musk estimated 500 thousand cars in 2020) 2020; Tesla ain't a fad because they aren't selling more cars! (Tesla is manufacturing and selling about 500 thousand cars)

Lidar has (supposedly) been used by Tesla for ground truthing camera data already a couple of years ago. I have been surprised that lidar sightings have been so rare since radar can only be used for ground truthing the front facing cameras. Edit; JRP3 beat me by a few minutes.

Well, check out the linked FSD video from 1:02 to 1:13. The fence on the right blocks the B pillar view to the cars approaching from the right. The fish eye lens can't see far enough to the right. The only solution for the car is to push the front of the car to the road to see the approaching...

Sure, I agree if it is really, really good. But good autopilot and something that can act as an independent robo-taxi are different things. It will take something "magical" now or later before people start truly believing the taxi idea. It wasn't long ago when Elon described "feature complete"...

The market cap had quite a lot already baked in before these events. I'm also not sure why the hurry with the SP. It will go up if Tesla shows that they can deliver. English is not my native language so could you help me interpret why Elon chose to use the verb "would" rather than "will"? To express uncertainty, i.e. that the said features are aspirational [but not necessarily achievable]? Previously he has spoken about FSD with pretty certain terms.
