Need opinions on two dedicated sets of tires

Nice! Exactly what I ended up doing but screw the 20" tires. I got a nice set of dedicated PS4S for summer on nice lightweight alloy wheels from Costco ($1500 for everything) and I'm going to do the exact same by getting michelin x ice and having them installed on my stock wheels by costco for...

Need opinions on two dedicated sets of tires

OK.. interesting turn of events. Costco has a huge package promo with Velox wheels going on today so I cancelled my orders for the tirerack deal. Has anyone had experience with Velox wheels?? They seem very lightweight and with the current promo of $150 off a set of 4 and an additional $100...

Need opinions on two dedicated sets of tires

Thanks for the info! The michelin x ice seem really great. Tire rack is selling for $810 For a set of 4. My local costco has the exact same tires for $870 but they have a $70 off promotion. Also that $870 price includes installation of all 4 so maybe I'll just do that.. Then I'll probably buy a...

Need opinions on two dedicated sets of tires

Yea I've been MIA that's for sure. Exactly my thoughts on both how worn the all seasons will be when I need to replace them and getting dedicated summer tires if I'm going to have dedicated snow tires.

Need opinions on two dedicated sets of tires

Regarding the winter set I just want something that can handle well in the snow and get good traction. I just have rwd and it handled reasonably well but going up minor hills was a little problematic because I kept slipping in chill mode at slower speeds due to lack of traction. Regarding the...

Need opinions on two dedicated sets of tires

After driving around in a lot of snow so far this Winter (New England), I've decided to get a dedicated set of snow tires on my existing aero wheels (that way I can use the caps to cover up the holes to ensure snow also doesn't get packed in there). That being said, I'd like to keep the snow...

    Model 3 home charging options

Just so everyone knows I've been an electrical engineer in the field for 6 years so I have the right equipment and know what I'm doing, I just have never done electrical work on my home. I haven't Googled anything - this thread really helps as a starting point for the high level idea and I'm...

    Model 3 home charging options

The cost you're talking about for the hpwc - is that to hire an electrician or to diy? I'd like to do it myself if possible so I'm wondering if that cost will still be high

    Model 3 home charging options

can someone help me understand my options for home charging on my model 3? I read that the high power wall connector (HPWC) has two generations which there are differences between. Then I read that some people prefer NEMA 14-50. I have the option to buy a 1st Gen hpwc for $350 brand new but...

Vinyl cutout files for Model 3

I have been very inactive on these forums lately. I gave my cutout files to kenriko for the steering wheel accents and the t emblem but he is so focused on his amazon sales that I guess he doesn't have time to put my stuff up. Oh well.

    Slacker radio credentials

Be mindful that you have to do these tests on insanely high end equipment to tell the faintest difference. People who claim otherwise are bs'ing you. Aka you need a $500 digital headphones amplifier and even then you probably wouldn't be able to tell. If you listen on a standard laptop or...

    Phone Call Echo

Lol this is not a solution. A solution means it fixes the problem permanently for everybody. Just because you're not observing the same symptoms does not lead to the conclusion that it's the solution. I've disabled the noise cancelation and I still observe the same effects

    Slacker radio credentials

Idc who you are. You cannot hear the difference between 128 kbps and 190 kbps. Anyone who says they can, take the npr audio quality test and you will finally come to the realization you're full of *sugar*.

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

OK I ended up going through her insurance since the quote for the damage was roughly $1700. Now that insurance is involved, has anyone had any experience filing for diminished value of a car? Is that something I'm able to do and how would I go about that?

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

Well I'm conflicted because the car was going probably 2-3mph just rolling into my car when there was a stop light - this is a very slow speed. If I report something this menial to her insurance, it could very well show up on the carfax report which devalues my car as opposed to if I were able...

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

Actually no, no ultrasonic sensor there. That was the screw of her license plate that punctured the front so you can actually see the imprint of the circle which makes it look like the sensor. It's purely just plastic pushed in essentially :-/ If ultrasonic sensors I'd be very upset hahaa

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

Insurance Companies and Car Accidents in MA : Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone Looks like MA is a no fault state. Sounds like ideally it would be disadvantageous for me to go thru her insurance and try to find a local body shop that she'd be willing to foot the bill for?

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

That's kind of what I was thinking.. If it counts for anything she was going < 5 mph so I highly doubt any internal damage was done but definitely worth checking

Vendor Open Source DIY Model 3 Console Wrap Template

Yes, between Kenriko and myself we're working on all of them. I'm doing the door sills, door handles, autopilot side cameras, and wooden dash. I know Kenriko is perfecting other things and marketing his center console and door switch products now but I just haven't had the time or bandwidth to...

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

So I just got rear ended by someone I believe who was texting and driving. She was nice and admitted fault, cooperated and gave me her registration and license and license plate number. The damage is fairly minor but Im not sure what to do. I did spend a lot of money on the car but I was hoping...

Keeping car AC on on really hot day while plugged in.. Any problems?

All great thoughts thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the best thing to do is only do this when you absolutely need to otherwise there's not much benefit and in fact can cause more wear on the ac system

Keeping car AC on on really hot day while plugged in.. Any problems?

I don't see any issue or problem doing this but would love to get others take on the matter. Is there any consequence of leaving my Ac on at 67 to keep my car at a reasonable temperature while it's plugged in? I don't pay for charging at work so the only consequence I see is being wasteful of...

Plastidipped Aero cap vs stock wheels w/o aero caps

Hey man, Sorry to hear about your misfortune doing this. Honestly, it was very difficult for me too and I did get rip up of the plasti dip along the edges. For the second set of wheels I did, I noticed the plasti dip was most prone to lifting up where the coverage on the edge/rim of the...

Thanks a lot for the support man. I gave steering wheel accents to kenriko to do a once over before he publishes them in the repository. I'm currently working on door sills, wood dash trim, and door handles and have just been crazy busy at work the past couple of weeks. The files will become...

Vendor Open Source DIY Model 3 Console Wrap Template

If you lack confidence in your ability to install, then maybe consider a professional installer. Vendor Open Source DIY Model 3 Console Wrap Template

Fairly easy - Kenriko has a really nice long detailed video on how to do it. If you clean it initially, watch the video, and take your time installing (and have a squeegee handy), there's no reason you shouldn't have good results.

Haha don’t worry. You would make all three pieces in whatever direction you’d like. I was just optimizing fit for the roll I was working with so I had to work it sideways to fit it on the sheet I was printing.

Vendor Open Source DIY Model 3 Console Wrap Template

Yep over time these will become available as template cut files and then kenriko will likely need some time to cut them himself and I'm sure he'll perfect mine even more since his reputation is on the line by selling products that should be guaranteed to fit. Kenriko is doing most of the heavy...

Plastidipped Aero cap vs stock wheels w/o aero caps

Yep it's plasti dip! You can't just apply the bright aluminum metalizer , you have to put a base coat of plasti dip on (I opted for the black base coat). I put 4 layers of black and 3 layers of the metalizer on top with letting each coat sit for ~30 min

Plastidipped Aero cap vs stock wheels w/o aero caps

I know a LOT of people were asking this earlier and I finally got around to doing this.. I only did one wheel and I also got really impatient so I managed to peel some of the black plasti dip off. Also my coverage wasn't superb when taping over so I'm going to need to take more tiem...
