Reduced price Autopilot & FSD for existing owners announced March 1st

How are you so absolutely sure that the HW3 is included? Even the Full Auto upgrade that I bought mentioned that it was a software upgrade when available when purchasing. It did not make any mention of the hardware upgrade. Since I upgraded from EAP to Full Auto on my Performance M3 for $2000...

Model 3 not recommended and also highest owner satisfaction from Consumer Reports

My PM3 is used as an everyday commuter and it excels at the fun factor. However, I have a backup SUV gas guzzler that is super reliable. With a significantly reduced range compared to the stated range and possible reliability issues along with inconsistent service experiences, as well as cold...

    Performance Model 3 Snow Tires/Rims

I agree that the model 3 performance tend to fishtail occasionally on snow more so then any other 4 wheel vehicles that I currently own. And it happens without any warning but luckily it instantly corrects itself and go about business as usual. I had to also put it in chill mode and steering...

30 days and still no title

I purchased P3D+ model back on Sept 2018. Paid 100% in cash during the delivery date. Tesla has not sent me the title to the car as of yet. Contacted them and they are still researching stage. What car company does that? I am being patient but this seems dysfunctional to me.

    Performance Model 3 Snow Tires/Rims

Here is my P3D+ at local ski resort this morning. Nice powder day! Wheels are from Vibe Motors from Savini SV F1 model 19 inch x 9 rim with Michelin Alpin 5. Initially the rim was not properly drilled but Vibe Motors and Savini worked together to have it solved. Now I can fully recommend...

    P3D+ Sheet metal pop sound

I hear these sounds routinely on my P3D+. During supercharging, during routine driving, and just as I pull out of the driveway. Its like a thunk and pop and snap and so on. Some are quieter and once in a while little louder. Currently, I just accept it as part of the normal process since it...

Performance not getting 310 miles promised

Being an owner of P3D+ since the end of Sep 2018, I have to say that I am a very happy owner of one. I love the acceleration and handling of the car as well as the styling. I am one of those lucky guys that have charging at work. I use my car for daily driving mostly highways and also to...

Performance not getting 310 miles promised

I am also in the camp of we should be getting close to the advertised miles of 310 under normal driving condition. It would have been nice to have a bigger battery capacity for the performance version to be able to get the rated mileage. I get 320 wh/mi average during the winter and about 300...

Do you prefer Creep On or Off?

Hey, why argue over preferences! I am just glad the software allows both functions. I am glad they are not forcing down our throats someone else's preferences. We are all different and there are pros and cons to each choice. I am glad some of you guys are not the one making software...

    Frozen window dented chrome trim

I wonder how much premature window motor failure there will be because of this constant usage. I do agree to preheat the cabin is a band-aid and not a solution since not everyone has a chance to adequately pre-heat in certain situations, nevermind about, additional efficiency loss during the...

    Frozen window dented chrome trim

I understand your frustration. Hoping that Tesla will accept this as faulty design and fix accordingly. I live in a colder climate with more snow. So far I have not experienced this because my car is usually in the garage during the starting point. I have yet to have it openly exposed to...

Subtle closed charge port door noise

I noticed a clicking sound coming from the charge port door every few seconds since the new update. I did not notice that before and I thought this would cause wear and tear somehow. It would be nice to know if this is a common faulty component or if it is indeed normal behavior. By the...

    Performance Model 3 Snow Tires/Rims

Is that size front and back , 255/40R19. Also what offset did you have on your wheels? Do you have any spacers? Any rub in the front when aggressively turning right or left? Just curious because this was the size I was also interested in getting. Do you have any clearance issues with the...

    P3D+ Acceleration

The difference is that you have to prep for a launch control. With P3D+, you just hit your accelerator. While you are prepping for launch control your already gone with Tesla. Launch control will be good for drag racing. Normal street use, P3D+ wins out.

    P3D+ Acceleration

Personally, I think P3D+ has a perfect amount of street useable instant acceleration for everyday use without being dangerous. Very useful instant torque on entering highways and passing other cars. I love driving it every day without being too obnoxious to others sharing the street. As far as...

    Performance Model 3 Snow Tires/Rims

Currently, Vibe Motors is reworking my Savini wheels with Savini to have properly fit my P3D+. First time around it did not fit because of the improper drilling that did not clear the 3mm lip even though I did proper due diligence. So much work sending it back and having to remount. It took 2...

    Performance Model 3 Snow Tires/Rims

Owners with performance model 3 with the performance upgrade need to be careful about working with aftermarket wheel sellers as of yet. Navigate on Autopilot is Going to Cause Accidents

I am more alert using EAP especially the NAV on AP then I am just driving on my own. NAV on AP is a dicey experience so I have to be able to immediately take over. The only useful aspect of NAV on AP is that it may remind you when you need to exit and that is about it. I only continue to use...

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

I offered to take FSD in exchange for $5000 refund while keeping FUSC. Tesla customer service replied this option is not on the table and that I have to give up FUSC in exchange for $5000. They also clearly stated that there will be no tax refund. Of course, I opted for $5000 for now. We will...

Are you OK with AutoPilot jail?

My tendency is same as you. I tend to steer toward the direction that the car should take but I will occasionally apply more torque than the car wants and causing the AP to disengage. I also tend to just anchor with one hand near the bottom of the wheel with a light touch to keep the AP nag...

Are you OK with AutoPilot jail?

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

I am one of those buyers of P3D+ model with all upgraded features including white pearl paint and white seats and EAP except FSD. I would be happy if Tesla would just let me keep FUSC and would upgrade to FSD for a win-win situation instead of refunding $5000. This would save Tesla some money...

Are you OK with AutoPilot jail?

Are you OK with AutoPilot jail?

Your right, it is usually spelled as you have stated. But if you were more open-minded you would have known that Torq is an alternative spelling for Torque. I am sure you are a much better user of AP than me, but I believe there definitely can be some improvement to the current version so that...

Are you OK with AutoPilot jail?

The thing about model 3 AP is that to comply I have to pay attention more to the computer screen then the road ahead while driving. I am constantly glancing at the computer screen to make sure there is no blue warning while driving because the wheel torq sensor is not sensitive enough...

Are you OK with AutoPilot jail?

I would agree automatic disengagement of AP is not always the safest. It does actively deter people that abuse AP but in situations that the driver has a temporary emergency situation such as brief seizure activity automatically disengaging AP will lead to fatality whereas it might have given a...

    Model 3 Software Update 2018.42.x

I received 42.8 update this afternoon. However, my menu that says track mode is grayed out and not selectable at this point. Maybe I am not meeting some condition that needs to be met before I can select the track mode. I was in park and supercharging when I was looking at the menu.

Are you OK with AutoPilot jail?

My experiences with AP is very mixed. It is not reliable enough even with the latest updates to trust it yet it is sensitive enough to accidentally turn off the AP feature while driving, It would be nice if the wheel actually detected hands on the wheel instead of needing to detect torq. I...

Widest tires in front for square set up?

Your right narrower tires probably perform better on the snow. But that was not my question. I don't have a narrower choice with Nokian WR G4 at 19 inches with a similar diameter. Also, I wanted a compromise of all-weather traction and performance not just snow. Anyway, I was just trying to...

Widest tires in front for square set up?

So does 255/40/19 setup with 19X9 inch wheel square set up clears the front and no problems everyday driving? I was thinking about the Nokian WR G4 wheels for the winter setup but only comes in 255/40/19 and no 245/40/19 is available.

Hello, does anybody know for sure whether 255/40/19 Nokian WR mounted on 19X8.5 would be stable and have no rubbing issues with the fender on the front on Model 3 Performance? I cannot find any 235/40/19 or 245/40/19 here in USA online. I know the back is not an issue but would there be any...

I did have the purchase docs, I had all the evidence. Just not a sign of Title. I am not that worried and I will be driving and enjoying every minute. Just another fact to keep in mind and so far even Tesla is not able to answer this question. If Tesla nor DMV can answer this question that...

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

I have to say I am one of those P3D+ buyers that spent countless hours researching about the model 3 before taking delivery with some faith on Sept 28th. Less than a month later this $5000 drop occurred. There were enough delivery shenanigans and poor services like not getting the...

I have finally received the registration packet and successfully registered with the state of NV DMV. I did have to pay additional taxes that Tesla did not fully collect since it was the higher amount in Reno, NV. Of course, it was just outside the 30-day window in which time I had to stop...
