Just collected my LR from West Drayton. It was busy but the process was efficient.
No presentation etc. any more as others have said - just hand you the keycards and off you go to inspect your car.
There was no pressure to sign the delivery form up front and I took as long as I needed to inspect the car without any pressure.
Just ignore any texts/emails you get before the collection. That's just part of the automated process.

For the record, my car was perfect in terms of paint finish, panel gaps etc. There was a tiny (and I mean tiny) scuff on the back of one of the seats. Some people might have complained about it, but the only resolution would have been to have the seat back cover replaced which would have required a SC appointment and visit or maybe a ranger. I'm not that picky.

Completely happy with my Model 3, as I was with the first one.

Collected my M3 from the Dartford service centre today, was even more straightforward than buying a mouse from PC world...
Just had to sign in on my phone after scanning a QR code and was handed the Kew cards a couple of minutes later, checked over the car and everything seemed fine. Some panel gaps, but seemed similar to the other cars around. So I just went in my way.. love the car so far.

Personally, I will not be signing *anything* until I have thoroughly inspected by car to ensure I am completely happy with it.

Any document that you sign as accepting the ownership of the car IS legally binding, if it wasn't there would be no obligation to sign it. Once signed, you have contractually accepted the goods as being in a satisfactory condition at the point of collection.

Why not reply to Tesla asking *them* to sign a document that you have prepared stating that *they* have fully inspected the car for any faults by way of a comprehensive pdi prior to your collection and will provide a documented verification of all the checks that they have carried out, furthermore that they warrant that all defects that *you* identify at the time of collection will be rectified to your satisfaction BEFORE you sign to accept the car and drive it away from their premises.

If you get a response ( likely?, I don't think so) I would be interested to see it posted on here.

Any defects that are subsequently found that that are deemed to have been reasonably evident to you at the time you accepted the car would be at the discretion of the supplier unless *you* are able to prove otherwise.

I recommend that you go to collect your car armed with a clipboard containing an inspection list that you have compiled to focus upon rather than be blinkered by the adrenaline rush and excitement of the moment and advise the tesla rep that you will be undertaking such an inspection and will not be accepting or driving away the car unless it meets with your complete approval.

Good luck with the collection of your car, I hope that it exceeds your expectations and your are able to enjoy it without any post-delivery blues.

Perhaps you will post details of your collection experience, whether good, bad or indifferent.

Thanks for the reply - I've not had a single email replied to as yet so I'm not going to hold out any hopes of getting a reply to that request! :p

Good idea about the checklist!

Yes I will post a follow-up of my collection experience. I see you're in the NW too - I'm collecting from the Tesla Manchester (Stockport) SC tomorrow.

Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly!

My collection point will be Stockport also so I am very interested in hearing of your experience.

If you are agile enough I would recommend taking a peek under the car, you never know what you might find..... or not find! I urge you to check-out this very concerning critical safety issue in this post....

Be aware! Tie Rod safety: Life and Death issue

I hope your collection will be an enjoyable one. I look forward to your review!

re: the document to sign - I collected today without signing it - it’s not a problem - they’ll have you sign on their iPad instead and come with you to the car - when you give them the ok they’ll mark it as delivered and send you on your way :)

I know they advise to collect alone, but did anyone go up with a friend or family member?

i think i’m going to be too excited to properly inspect the car with all the excitement.
Yes, I did and probably half of the other new owners did when I was there. It's not really a problem at Heathrow because a lot of the cars are parked outside. Luckily it wasn't raining when I was there earlier...

I got the same, I'm collecting tomorrow and received another text today;

"Tesla Update - In preparation for your Delivery tomorrow, please ensure that your Delivery Declaration has been signed. This will allow you access to the Tesla App in time for your appointment. As this will be a contactless experience, please view our Support Videos"

with a link to some videos (different from the ones in the App) which I guess used to form part of that presentation thing they did for new owners ( Meet Your Tesla if anyone wants to watch them ). I'm currently debating whether to sign in advance or not now - was hoping someone who collected today would be able to confirm if they had a similar experience or if this is just Edinburgh.

im collecting Edinburgh too on Friday, and got same thing from my delivery specialist today - she said it helps them sort the app out and give me access, and that it’s nothing to do with condition but like you I read it and didn’t feel comfortable. I’m all up for helping anyone out but if it means I wait a half hour to get app access while I programme my Spotify and seat position and look over the car, or even a few hours And I have to use the key card instead of app.... I’m fine with that. She asked me to sign while on site and let her know and she would update so I’m just going to do that.

Just found out the frunk design / mould has changed for recent 2020 models ? No longer the option to add the bag hooks and the base has slightly changed. Ive already received 3rd party hooks and base mat off Amazon to fit when collect on Friday. Will not be able to fit now :(

Don't think that change has made it to these shores yet so you should be OK. Suspect the Q4 deliveries will be a different story.

Can take up to 48 hours to get app access but personally I'd still do that rather than sign before seeing the car.

Yes it has. Mine has the new frunk.

oh really? I had asked if I could buy accessories when I collect in edinburgh (key cards out of stock online)y delivery specialist said I could get them but she also mentioned hooks for frunk...

and with such a huge boot for small bits of shopping, I thought oh yeah right I’ll do that - but now I’ll have to open frunk first then!!

To be fair, Tesla employees are often the last to know about changes...

Huh. Congratulations or Commiserations then?

How about your headlights?

Doesn't bother me what insert the frunk has TBH. Don't use it for shopping. It's handy to leave charge cables and emergency kit in there but we don't use it much.

The whole headlights/power frunk rumour is a red herring I reckon.
My new one has the usual headlight units and frunk gas struts. I reckon that rumour was a hoax.
