GLOVIS CAPTAIN about to go dark for 4 days or so, judging by behaviour of the DAHLIA - pretty sure the CAPTAIN is my target tracker.

For those who haven’t spotted it, you can register alerts using free “credits” if you set up a MarineTraffic account, these alerts can tell you all sorts but most simply can tell you when a ship appears and disappears on the land-based AIS tracking.

If like me you have been fondly gazing at ships expertly identified by @Mr Miserable for days/weeks/months - you will find this useful as the site can email you when a land-based AIS ping “appears” (or no AIS for 60 minutes occurs).

Cheers buddy and like you I think mine could be on the Glovis Captain so will keep an eye on this.

That's interesting, I have an X on the way and also received a VIN on the 15th. Haven't been given a delivery estimate yet but its probably similar to yours in that case. FYI none of these ships will have our cars on board, the X goes via train to Houston and then shipped from there in a container (covered many times on this thread)

@Vedaprime is tracking mine, am expecting a progress update any time now.

When did you order your X? What’s the spec? Been waiting for mine since January and Tesla just doesn’t seem to want to give me any concrete info. :(

GLOVIS SPLENDOR Two weeks ago I checked and she was booked into Emden on 1 Sep to collect VWs for delivery to the USA. This morning that booking no longer exists. It very much looks like her schedule has drastically changed probably as a result of requiring to return to the Far East to conduct a crew rotation. So I am of the opinion that GLOVIS SPLENDOR will be destined to the Far East. She will depart from Pier 80 tomorrow morning.
I have also been trying to find bookings on the various systems for RCC ASIA or GLOVIS SIGMA - nothing found as yet, although there are a number of 'TBC' placeholder bookings that I am monitoring.

GLOVIS SUN Is now in the English Channel south of the Isle of Wight and heading for Zeebrugge at about 17 kts. She will arrive later tonight/ early hours of tomorrow morning. She did a brief stop at Brixham earlier this morning to pick up a European pilot. She will depart Zeebrugge on Thursday night and is scheduled to arrive in Southampton at 14:30 on Fri 7th. She will have 24 hours to unload in Southampton.

GRAND DAHLIA. Her noon position is shown on the chart below. She has cleared the Windward Passage and will enter the Atlantic this afternoon via the Caicos Passage. Although Isaias has strengthened and is now a hurricane again, its latest track forecast will keep it well clear of GRAND DAHLIA. She should follow the same track across the Atlantic as the GLOVIS SUN. ETA Zeebrugge 13 Aug

GLOVIS CAPTAIN She is continuing to make good progress towards the Panama Canal where she is due to arrive on 8 Aug. The free competition to guess her position in the Atlantic on 15 Aug is now open. ETA Zeebrugge 21 Aug

GLOVIS SPLENDOR She is alongside Pier 80 and will complete loading tonight. I expect her to depart in the small hours tomorrow morning to the Far East.

RCC ASIA Is making her way down the Pacific coast from Canada and is now due to arrive alongside Pier 80 on Thursday morning.

Hi folks,

I ordered a M3 i the middle of June for delivery in Norway in August (delivery month based on Teslas website)
Does anyone of you know if the Golvis Sun holds M3's for Norway, or is it just for the UK and Irland?
Hello!

Both - Glovis Sun will first unload a batch of cars for European markets at Zeebrugge (most probably incl. Norway) and then sail to Southampton to unload for UK/Ireland markets.

@Mr Miserable Is there quite a difference in skill level involved between piloting in the oceans vs arriving in port? Is the requirement for a specialist pilot port specific or could the same crew that cross the Atlantic arrive into Zeebrugge with some additional training?
The Brixham pilots are experienced with all the procedures for the busy European waters and ports. They will ensure the ship complies with all the regulations surrounding the various traffic separation schemes etc and will ensure there are no misunderstandings on the radio etc. They are familiar with landmarks, currents and paperwork that may be encountered and will stay aboard to advise the ship's Master until the ship departs Europe. Harbour pilots are still generally required in addition for each port - they bring a lot to the party especially at night, in poor weather etc.

For those interested in S/X to Europe. The detailed data is in for Maersk Montana. It does have a little over 20 containers of Tesla shipments onboard heading To Netherlands and Norway. Unfortunately, there are no cars onboard. It is all parts shipments and some superchargers.

The next ship to watch is Maersk Iowa arriving Rotterdam August 10.
The one after that is Maersk Nijmegen arriving Rotterdam August 22
