2024 VINs?

Not sure if this FB group guy knows what he’s talking about, but claiming it’s “always” the 1st week in November for new VINS.

Thats not true, I picked up my MS in December of 2017, and it was still a 2017 not 2018.

I had my 2016 MX December VIN 2016, and also 2016 not 2017

Nothing is “always” at tesla. Tesla held production date to model year until a few years ago because too many customers complained about it so now they release the next model year in Q4 like other OEM’s

This is an X tracking thread so I would assume no, but no to any 24' Y's either.

I just got assigned a '23 vin. I might just ask them to delay and hope to get a '24 vin in afew weeks.

They will do a one time 2 week hold, otherwise you have to cancel and reorder.

My guess is they will start 2024 model year the Monday after Thanksgiving 11/27/23.

Guys, life’s too short to fret this whole model year VIN thing.

How you take care of your car and the mileage you put on it will matter much more. The difference in a late 23 and early 24 car is a tiny percentage of the value of the car.

If you pay property taxes on your vehicle in your locality, it may be cheaper in the long run to have a ‘23 vs a ‘24 if the taxed value is lower.

Just get out there and enjoy the car. Life’s short.

What if you reject a perfectly well assembled 2023 and ended up with a Mediocre 2024. Please go and inspect the car. If the 2023 is perfect then it will be less of a headache in the long run.
