Anyone ordering without EAP and FSDC?

This is an AP2 owners thread, so I am kinda trolling (AP1.0 owner). I highly recommend those on the fence to get EAP. It (AP1.0 i.e.) is the coolest feature that wows my kids everyday (& the kid in me) - it works despite the AP1.0 hardware we have on our cars - and I use it regularly. Instead of the urge to drive at high speeds, I simply put speed at +5, and cruise - quite peaceful. I am pretty confident most of the promised features of EAP will be available shortly (Q1) if not yet. Heck, the TACC in itself is a great stress reliever & reacts quite well to sudden traffic changes ahead (than most human drivers will). Just FWIW.
cheers

Wonder if Tesla will actually give money back for people who ask? But my guess will be that they will probably say NO! They probably are going to pull the "Its to late" card.
Well They have no standing with me. I ordered when AP1 was available, was congratulated a couple weeks later about being "upgraded to AP2 Hardware" , No mention that exactly ZERO AP FUNCTIONALITY would be available until I was at delivery day. No worries the telsa rep says it will be out in a couple weeks.....2 months later....NADA

I get lots of "gee I wish I had your problem" but my point is really this: I TEST DROVE AP functionality.....PAID for AP functionality...and still do not have it with no real mention of when it will have ANY functionality (Much less auto wipers TACC, BSW....). The PROPER thing to do would be to credit me my $2500 until such time as it is functional to the level 1 AP feature set.

They told us the exact same thing on our delivery day. "Give it a couple weeks and it will be ready" Where is it? Not complaining just saying Tesla could have been more honest about when it was going to be ready! At least TACC, Auto Headlights...etc

We got FSD - the package we went back and forth the most on.
Ultimately, it ended up being a combination of a small possibility that some bits and features of FSD will light up before full self driving and I knew I would get it eventually anyway.

Another factor is that I really don't think FSD upgrade would be only 4K when it truly becomes FSD. The financial value (based on return of investment) of a true self driving feature that can participate in a ride sharing network and make money for you is tens of thousands of $s.

Unfortunately I have not received any further communication of how this is going to work. I think the Tesla employees are unsure themselves.

Spoke with my sales advisor last night who was able to reach my delivery specialist since she rarely answers my emails and she confirmed that an AP1 experience will be on our HW2 cars. She of course threw out there that I could upgrade to EAP if I wanted for an additional $2500 or $3500 after delivery. Now I'm just waiting to see what this update will be like once it comes out of ghost mode. If it's a massive leap forward then I may ask for the upgrade but if all these extra features won't be around for months I may just stick with the AP1 software.

This sounds promising! Thank you for posting.

Interesting thread here - but as a brand new member (order placed on 01/15/17 - will enter production on 01/22/17), I am still looking for one more bit of information on this topic.

I ordered the EAP, but not the FSDC. That's because I too thought I would get only vaporware at this point for the $3k add. However, I stumbled across something that indicated that getting the FSDC might be somewhat beneficial as that option turns on the other four cameras (EAP by itself only uses 4 of the 8 apparently). The supposed benefit is that with all eight cameras (and maybe some of the ultrasonic sensors too?) operating, the feedback to the car is richer, and the performance will be at least slightly improved. Performance being in terms of lane changes, side warnings, etc. Does anyone have any information on this? If there is a benefit here (even if relatively minor), I might go ahead and pay the $3k now.

First post on the Forum - so hopefully this is the best thread for this question. Thanks All!

EAP itself doesn't 4 camera's yet :(
I have FSD too - not sure that was the right call. I think of it more like contributing to a self driving kickstarter campaign :)

I agree concerning FSD. Earlier as I saw they slowly rolled out EAP features expected them to begin doing the same with FSD. What a disappointment :(, and it is almost time for the cross country drive! I expect that to be postponed.
