... and we haven't heard from him since....

My delivery was fast, but we still found a lot for them to correct. I had them polish out some scuffs around the headlight, front fender, trunk lid and right rear passenger door (which they did a good job on). The delivery agent then found some chips near the driver door jams and a scuff on the inner left rear passenger door. When we got home, I noticed 2 long, thin scratches on the upper left fender near the hood. Emailed the pic to the delivery agent and he said they would correct it with the other chips. I was actually thinking I would just do it using Dr. ColorChip as I'm used to their products and they work surprising well.

There was one panel gap that was wider than all the others. It was between the right front fender and the right edge of the hood. It's weird, because the gap around the hood is even except in one spot. I honestly think it's the hood and not the fender. I asked the DA and he said it met Tesla's tolerance for gaps, but I'm going to ask service when the car goes in for the paint correction. In all honesty, it's about the width of a quarter. Most people may not notice or care about it, but I'm on the OCD side. I decided to accept the car for four reasons:

1 - No other Blue Performance, white interior cars that were not spoken for - so delivery by 12/31/18 was not guaranteed.

2 - Replacement car might be worse than this one

3 - Accepted the Model 3 is a high volume car and not a Collector car. I can't see any car made in the numbers of the Model 3 to ever go up in value. Seeing the low prices (with respect to original MSRP) of the used Model S cars made me realize this. I also accepted the fit and finish is just not the same as even my Chevy Volt.

4 - Fear of missing the full Federal Tax Credit

I did look at almost ever available Tesla (Models 3, S, X) and it seemed they all had one place where the panel gaps were not consistent. Some cars it was the hood, others the doors, others the rear hatch and still others where the headlights meet the bumper and fender. Maybe Tesla Rocklin gets all the reject cars. If you look at my Volt and NSX all the panel gaps are very tight and consistent. My 3 basically is except the one spot and I can live with it for the next 5 or so years. I will say if it was the $200 K Roadster I would not be happy and would have refused delivery. I hope Tesla can correct their manufacturing issues before the Roadster rolls out.

The other reason for accepting the car was it drove exceptionally well. It tracked straight and smooth, and was quiet with no squeaks and rattles anywhere. I also can't see the one wider panel gap section while I'm driving. I had a Honda CR-Z that was cosmetically perfect, but the dash and door panels creaked and rattled like crazy.

So in the end, no regrets and I'm happy with the car.

Happy Holidays and I hope everyone's delivery goes smoothly !!!

Did anyone else have $19k showing for AWD total of $54k

Instead of $18k as the option total $53k ?

What’s so hard to have the correct pricing shown unless I’m missing something and they are saying my original book date is why the pricing reflects $54k.

I pick up soon.

Picked up mine this past Thursday. The only thing I noticed was the slight gap when the charging door is closed. Otherwise I didn't see any thing huge with panel gap and paint issues. One of the mirrors looked like it had some orange peel but that wasn't a huge issue with me. I've only driven 40 miles so far but it's been enjoyable. Far different than the CTR I traded in but it was worth the upgrade in safety and comfort. I need to bring it to my detail guy for ceramic coating and protection. Then tint will be in a few months since it's still winter and its not as big a deal yet. I don't care to have the car down for a month like my CTR was when I had the PPF / tint done on it. But that was through a friend so thats why it took so long.

Was hoping to pickup my AWD from the Marina Del Rey SC today. I showed up 15 minutes early, but wasn’t seen until about 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time due to them being “overbooked”. Finally sat down, signed the paperwork and handed over payment. About 10 minutes later, my Delivery Specialist comes by and says there is some bubbling with the paint and that the car cannot be taken home today. He apologized for this not being communicated to me ahead of time and suggested that the repair would take 5-7 days. Fortunately, he returned my payment and offered a loaner - so will be driving that around for a while.

Anyone else have similar issues with the MDR location?

Hey all, first post

Ordered 11/15.
Vin assigned 11/16 with 11/21 delivery. Panic ensued because when I placed the order it said 4-6 weeks.
Postponed delivery to 12/5.
Radio silence until 12/3. I start raising hell about not having a vin yet.
12/4 I get a vin and 12/5 delivery
Today 12/5 I took delivery.

White/white AWD
No EAP
19” wheels
Vin 135xxx

good to hear. I'm in the same boat.
ordered 11/13
scheduled for delivery 11/23
was going on vacation so i postponed it to 12/15. They unmatched me so now I need to wait for a new VIN. I'm hoping they will deliver the car around 12/15 as I just sold my car. maybe i need to call and bug them.

Do you miss the manual 6 speed of the CTR ? Didn't realize that Tesla's Pearl White Multi-Coat and Honda's Championship White looked that different. Thanks for the pic !!
Tesla's white tends to make all other whites look off-white, that's for sure. All other white cars parked next to me now all look dirty!

Here's hoping that all the pending orders and deliveries are wrapped up before the new years!

That was unfortunate but seems like they handled it well with the loaner for you and made you more comfortable by returning your check. I think these delivery centers are getting truck loads of new cars faster than they can process them for delivery in this last month of the year. Probably not so much a specific delivery center issue but something all the centers are trying their best to cope with. My car, Sept delivery, had a few tiny paint issues and an alignment issue to take care of, and it came back looking perfect so don't let that bother you. I'm sure they will be looking to get the car back to you in as short a period of time (and certainly before year end) so that the car can make it for December delivery. What options did you go with?

Yeah, compared to what I've read with others finding issues post delivery, I'm glad they found it prior to. Hopefully the turnaround time won't be long.

Options I went with were: Solid Black Exterior, White/Black Interior, 19" Sport Wheels and EAP
