I'm curious to see if today is like yesterday in terms of emails going out. I had to call Tesla on Wednesday to update my insurance information since it had expired and been renewed vs what they have in their system. The rep said that the ISA/IDA's were doing mass data entry to get everyone's info into the system. So some of the discrepancies we're seeing with who has/had not gotten emails might just be as simple as how fast their IDA/ISA is processing through their lists.

For anyone that received the delivery email yesterday- has anyone received a VIN, had their edit button disappear, or been able to enter vehicle information for a trade in?

No, although my account does reflect my delivery appointment now.

I'm officially "cautiously optimistic" about it all. The combination of them sending out so many emails, and some of the early reservationists not getting them when they were clearly operating based off early reservations before is confusing to me. I had configured almost immediately, so I had been hoping that would help me move up in the line, but also seeing people who configured later is just... weird.

I absolutely get it based on the length of line, but if we are getting rid of this much line - which I do think is possible - I don't understand why it seems to have suddenly changed things. My only thought / hope for those of you is that they want to schedule your delivery sooner than others, so you'll get a call or email in the next two days offering a week sooner.

So... I was one of the very happy people to get the email yesterday. Delivery confirmed for 9/22. My account was updated, so the next "unchecked" item is "Get your VIN."

What happens now? Should I wait for an IDA to call? I have an approval email from Lightstream, so "funding is secured." Should I call Tesla to figure out when I have a VIN, or does it not matter for Lightstream, and I just show up on 9/22?

Agreed -- the frequency and volume of emails has me worried that the actual delivery date could slip and they just wanted to apply as much pressure as possible to get the 'first step' over with. But... I have a delivery date, so that's something!

This is kinda what I would expect since it’s not an automated process. I’m giving it a few business days till I call total BS again. That said, this is a company that flaunts it’s ability to automate the most complicated tasks in the world. Self driving cars, a ridiculous complex production line and vertically integrated supply chain, and landing rocket boosters on ships, but they can’t automate a simple spreadsheet and delivery schedule with a total of 15 variables that are hardware related. I really don’t know how you can trust EAP when this is hard for them.

People will grind their teeth and put up with this, but only because they don't have any other choice. From any company where there really is competition this kind of BS would never fly.

Even for this company (with no competition) this normally would not fly. The expiring tax credit is the only reason I tolerate this. Otherwise I'd have taken my $3500 back months ago (when it became clear what an unpredictable sh!t show this is), and if they some day catch up to demand so that you can get a car with no delay I would consider it then.

It's possible that they have a large batch of new owners to schedule and they simply couldn't take care of them all in one business day, but since most people seem to be getting notification via email that doesn't seem terribly likely.

I do not expect a 2nd flood of notifications today, more like a week or two from yesterday. I would love however to be wrong.

Let's say that they are right now scheduling the 1st half of September production, and that is about 100% AWD vehicles.

That would be about 10K cars.... about 10-20% of that at most would be P model cars.

So that leaves about 8K-9K deliveries to start to handle the logistics of for the late September to early October time frame. I do expect some of these dates to slide around as Tesla continues to encounter bottlenecks with distribution.... it could be that they are pulling out all the stops for the last few weeks of this quarter, guess we will see.

No recent reports of deliveries scheduled for Tyson's Corner, VA.

Practically every scheduled delivery has EAP.

One report they ran out of 18" wheels.

Does not bode well for me. (18" wheels, no EAP, Tyson's)

I think they will continue to prioritize Performance, EAP since those are almost completely software features that net them huge additional profits for basically no additional effort.

They will also continue to prioritize white interior, but that becomes a distribution/logistics piece since they might have already burned through the white seats they had on hand and they are doing some production of black seats now.

Honestly, the randomness of delivery has me less concerned. I can keep driving this crappy 14 year old truck for another two months if needed. However, I’m more worried about the massive backlog of fixing minor issues on cars near the delivery locations. The man hours for that greatly will dwarf the time to hand over the car to someone. Also, what about maintenance and service over the next 1 to 2 years. These cars better need almost none or that will be the next issue and right when other car companies will have competitive offerings (minus the Supercharger network, which many of us won’t use anyways).

If this is true, fine! They could just act like a company that cares, call me up and ask if it’s ok to upgrade so I can get the car sooner. I’ll buy them at $1500.

Yea but that still doesn't mean they should be skipping reservations, if anything those lists should be reservations only.

I received a call from the Delivery Specialist Team on Wednesday 9/5 . Caller ID was 888-771-2505. I almost didn't answer.
Verified my info and gave me delivery appointment for 9/19. I asked for a vin and he says - "I guess I can give you that" 69xxx. Then followed up immediately with an email letting me know that "as the day approaches one of our experienced delivery team members will be reaching out to help finalize your delivery preparations."
I'm a bit skeptical and thinking the appointment will get changed. NJ delivery. Much sooner than expected.

Silver AWD Black 19s FSD
R 2/9/18
C 7/12/18

1/30/18 Reservation
6/28 Ordered, The Tesla page said Sept-Nov delivery
Midnight Silver, AWD, EAP, Aero's
8/26 Dropped my Trade-in, Confirmed all details on site, Got info on Fees and Taxes, lost Edit, Got "We are drafting up your contract.."
8/28 Called to tell them I am out of the Country in October
9/6 Got the delivery Email - Sept 27th to Oct 4th. Replied same day to Gimo.

My Reply had details of my situation and I have not gotten any response yet. No delivery date verification in my Tesla account or on Email. I am now afraid that I may have put too much in my reply and that for replies that indicate complications they may just set them aside?

Also a comment on the probability of the next "burst " of Emails. I follow Troy's spreadsheet and it looks to me like this burst gets Tesla all the deliveries that they can handle in September. So that means that if you did not get an Email yesterday, you most likely will not get delivery until at least October. In my case, If my reply puts out of the Sept 27th delivery, I will not get delivery until late November when I return home.
