I was in West-Vancouver today and saw that Tesla is opening another store there in Park Royal just across Cactus Club Cafe and Whole Foods. Good location, lots of Tesla's and other high end cars driving around in West Van.

Well, I don't think it could possibly be a worse location than their current one. Poor signage, little-to-no parking, horrible access. Here's hoping for an improvement.

Sounds like I'm customer number three at the new Oakville Service Centre.
It's a beautiful facility with the nicest staff anywhere. They've added many work stations for the sales/leasing department. Parts inventory is still arriving and being setup.

I got an email from LinkedIn this morning showing a ton of job posting with Tesla in the GTA, from Product Specialists to Recruiters, Service Techs and Advisors... I've been a professional in another industry entirely for 20 years, but I find myself idly wondering about what it would be like to be a Specialist- even part time. With Tesla vehicles and solar roofs coming up- it's not an uninteresting prospect... Anyone know what those guys make? I know it's not commission.

I heard that most Tesla employees aren't really in it for the money... doesn't pay that well.

I've had the exact same thoughts for almost 2 years now and I've been looking for management/business roles in Canada but there really isn't much. I saw a few marketing/delivery roles that were posted for the Lawrence store a while back.

Doug, that's um... uh... a bit sad :(
Yes, very sad, especially considering this comment in an email from Tesla in October 2013, just before I got my car:
The good news is that there will be a service center in Ottawa shortly and we are growing on a day by day basis – by the time you will need service, if that day ever does come, things will have changed. I highly doubt a visit to Montreal will be necessary, but again, to guarantee it at this stage is not possible.
I'm pretty sure 2017 (or whenever it eventually happens) doesn't qualify as "shortly" after October 2013...

I dropped by the Oakville SC Store Open House this evening. It was a very well-run event. I came early (wish I took some pictures but I'm sure someone on this board will post some).

At the front were a line of valet drivers to park cars - they all looked a little frozen because it was cold out. By the time I left the event (7:30p) countless cars - mostly Teslas - were streaming in and the valet team was hopping. Meanwhile inside was very packed! They converted the new car delivery area into a reception area with a DJ playing music but basically most people were hanging around the front area where a beautiful red MX and a white MS were on display.

I brought my teenage son along to have a look. He is convinced that one day he will own a Tesla and/or work for the company in some way (he is going to school for sw engineering). The event certainly made a good impression on him. As for me, I have never seen so many Tesla owners in one spot. I normally feel pretty special in that I rarely see Teslas around but in an event like this - I am just one of many with the same car as everyone else. Felt kind of weird to be honest.

Aside from regular maintenance, I hope that I won't need to visit that SC too often except perhaps to pick up my next new car whenever that may be...

Stopped by the Oakville location today with my dad to check out a Model X in person. It was pretty busy for a Saturday at 2:00pm. They had a 5 seater Model X for the showroom, and the Falcon Wings were disabled by staff in the full open position. It's probably smart to limit the wear and tear for the showroom Model X's. One lady was so excited after her test drive she called someone immediately and said it was unlike anything she's ever driven. September 2017 can't come soon enough!
