So I had a little hiccup... I turned my rental in Saturday morning and arranged a ride to Charlotte in preparation for my Sunday delivery appointment. But someone from Charlotte called me Saturday afternoon to say they’d “found something wrong with the charging port”. He wasn’t able to give me any info about what was wrong and said that would need to be diagnosed on Monday before an estimated repair time could be figured. So back to the waiting room for me...

Originally, assigned VIN 67xxx back during the end of quarter rush. Was originally told home delivery. Car was declared "undeliverable" so I was assigned a new VIN 117xxx that was being shipped from fremont at beginning of month. Car was to arrive in CLT on 23rd and pickup on 27th. Called service center on Saturday and they ask me if I'm picking car in Raleigh or CLT (appointment clearly states CLT). Apparently car is in Raleigh and they tell me that they don't know when it will arrive in CLT bc logistics handles that.

I call main Tesla delivery number today and they ping car and see that it is still in Raleigh. He says nothing setup logistically to deliver to CLT. So now he is going to contact my IDA to call me and figure out what is going on. I have the check from credit union that i was going to overnight once I knew the car was there and "deliverable" but now I'm wondering what the heck is going on....again.

Is there a reason why the car would have been delivered to Raleigh instead of CLT?

White, AWD, black interior, 19s

Positive post to balance out my previous posts. Been a roller coaster couple months filled with unknowns and some anxiety. Picked up the car on Sunday morning. They don't open till 12 but for some reason IDA scheduled me based on open time slots in cpu. Anyway, CLT crew got there early because they saw my appointment.

I must say everyone in CLT is very helpful and they always answer their phones when they can which is really great. Very good crew their from detailer to delivery specialists. Car looks flawless to my untrained eyes and couldn't be more happy.

This fine piece of engineering is really NEXT LEVEL. It is just ridiculous how good this car is. I drove my buddies RWD a while back and it just feels like the Dual Motor is significantly more planted, way better power delivery thru corners, and I think the region feels way smoother. One pedal driving is just fantastic on this. I feel like the interior is even more premium now that I own one. It is just a really nice place to be.

Thank you Tesla Team!

BTW, I highly recommend Allegacy FCU. So professional and easy to work with. If you live in the Upstate of SC and are looking to finance think twice about using Greenville Federal Credit Union----they were a pretty bad experience.

I talked to the SC staff again today. Apparently, my vehicle "wouldn't accept a charge". That sounds pretty bad but they won't be able to complete the diagnostics until Wednesday at the earliest to see if it is something that can be fixed. Delivery pushed off until next week at the earliest... I wonder why they waited until the day before delivery to check that stuff?

Called Charlotte this morning and it turns out my car arrived today! So I moved my delivery date up from 11/9 to 11/1.

Ordered my long range AWD 3 earlier this week. The folks in Charlotte and Raleigh said as long as it was ordered by Sunday the 11th I should have it by the end of the year. Crossing all my fingers and toes!! I’m beyond excited and can’t wait for delivery day!

I don’t understand how people who put in a reservation years ago have the patience to wait so long. It’s only been a few days for me and I’m dying.

Picked up my LR RWD today in Charlotte. Exactly 4 weeks since ordering. Called them on Wednesday to tell them next Tuesday's 1:30 pickup was going to be tough since both the wife and I would have to take the day off work. (And the daughter wanted to come). They said the earliest they would be able to give it up would be .... Thursday, the next day. Same set of problems, so we settled on today (Saturday) at 11:00. Friday they called and asked if I'd like it driven to the house Saturday morning for delivery (I'm 40 miles away). This was too big a deal, so I declined. Showed up 10 minutes early, got the coffee (still have the Tesla cup!) and started exactly on time. Keyed the phones, did the walk around, sat in and got the quick overview of the screens. She left us to play with the menus while she finished up the temporary tag. Out in an hour.

Somebody else in the forums suggested finding a straight piece of road on the way home and let 'er rip. Daughter turned pale. Oh yeah, this will do.

Just got my VIN assigned, quicker than I expected! (1228XX) What has the delivery timeline looked like for most people here after the VIN has been assigned?
Typically once you get your VIN, you are within a week of delivery. So I’d have things lined up and ready for when they call you and give you a date/time. You could always delay slightly to get things nailed down since they got yours filled so quickly.

Hey neighbor! From date of order 10/18 to delivery date was 26 days on my TM3 MR. Delivery is scheduled for this Wed. in CLT. Got my VIN about 10 days prior. Can't wait to add another Tesla to the stable!

I definitely won’t be delaying at all! I’m gonna be pushing to get it from them as fast as possible! Thanks!

Well, I must have hit the delivery jackpot! Still no word from my delivery advisor (I was told he would reach out yesterday about financing) but I just had a delivery time pop up online, for next Tuesday!! I was told it could be here even sooner than that! Even waiting until next Tuesday that’s 12 days from order to delivery and I’m beyond excited to have it for Thanksgiving (fingers crossed).

I was told my delivery advisor is Edward Hagan, or Pagan, or something similar. Does anyone know the correct last name and have experience with Edward? I’d definitely like to at least get a rate quoted from them soon so I can decide if I’m using them or USAA.

@Sg911 - Looks like all of your delays and changes may pay off with Tesla removing the cost of the performance upgrade. Based on Elon's tweets, seems you may be getting $5k back!!! Keep us posted if you hear anything.

Just a quick follow up...I requested the $5k back on January 4th. I received the check from Tesla for $5,000 on Jan 15th. I am not aware of any other car manufacturer who would do this. With over 10k miles on my car now (picked up Sept 28th), I love it more and more every single day.

Agreed. I got my Check pretty quick even tho I requested it from November and it was never properly submitted by TESLA . When requested again in December got it early January. The car is awesome ...and I might opt in for the Y or an X instead due to the potholes ,and construction By me !

Just noticed in your signature the purple wrap...have you done it already? Would love to get more info from you on this...

No, I did a paint correction, and ceramic coated it myself last week. But after using my Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT during the cold spells. I decided I like the higher visibility, and immunity to many road conditions and likely will sell my Model 3 Performance on the 20’s sooner than later. I only have 1600 miles on it... but have been using it more now with the warm weather!

Update; Since it has been much warmer and I have been really enjoying the car maybe I will keep longer ...as there isn’t an suv alternative I like better than our JEEP even tho I wish it was EV. It has adaptive cruise, is utilitarian, and everything we need right now. Jeep has some Electrified vehicles coming ...
