Where are people getting this firmware info from? Haven’t seen it reported anywhere.
I got my info from my SA (worthless), DEM (pretty damn good, actually) and an acquaintance on Tesla’s homologation team. Once I connected with that last one, I was convinced that firmware was the issue. But he couldn’t/wouldn’t say what exactly it was or when it would be addressed.

You won’t see reporting on it because every single EV site gets their “scoops” from this, or similar, online forums, so there won’t be any other confirmation.

Sorry… new here. What is “DEV”?

Anyone know if Model 3s are going through the same thing right now? Too lazy to go check that forum. Plus, if I go there, I will miss the chance to refresh my account page looking for new delivery info.
My girlfriend ordered a model 3 on 4/12, the same day I ordered a MYP, and her EDD is currently June 15-30. Remember kids - this is Tesla, where everything's made up and the dates don't matter!

Thanks for the info! I dropped by the Westmont service center and didn't see any new Ys parked outside. Another user (AnndyBo) noticed a lot of new Ys parked outside of the Schaumburg SC. Those must be the SCs that receive and store cars (or Westmont is lagging behind).
Went there again, now about 80 Ys, lot almost full, they may fit maybe 20 more cars. Highest VIN from the one I checked was 191xxx and build date 05.10.

@Sudsington have you had any success with this? I get nothing but vague, non-commital, scripted BS when I call the SC
Yup, AnndyBo and I have both talked to a really helpful delivery specialist named David at the Schaumburg location. The specialist at Westmont is less helpful (more scripted response), so I just call Schaumburg for delivery questions and updates now haha.

I was told that my delivery will be early to mid-June, but they cannot “guarantee” that because of the firmware issue.
How do you know it’s in Fremont? Were you assigned a VIN?
Store leader says he has a VIN, but is waiting for the firmware update.

Did your SA tell you that? Do you know your VIN/build date? Would be interested because I'll be picking up near Chicago as well (Westmont specifically).
Waiting on that info still. I’m picking up in Bloomington, IL. Schaumburg is closer for me as I’m in MKE, but they told me if I chose Schaumburg I’d have to wait even longer because they would have to line up a way for the vehicle to get there in time.

That’s where I’m scheduled to pick up mine (ordered in Walnut Creek). I guess they didn’t say if they were stockpiling or not? Considering they’re a stone’s throw away from Fremont, there’s probably no reason to, issue or not.
I had mentioned to him (through text) that people are reporting stockpiles at other SCs across the country, but he didn't comment about that. When we were at the Dublin SC a week ago I didn't see any stockpiling and actually made a mental note of all the empty parking spaces.

I’m really just so stunned about this software issue.

First off, I have no issue that they are holding out to make sure there are no bugs. It’s better than getting the car and having something serious go wrong.

However, the part that I don’t understand is why is this not talked about outside of the forum? Tesla is a public company and investors and shareholders would like to know this information. I find it hard to believe that that is the cause because if it was, it would be all over the news. Even when you google this problem nothing shows up.

On that note, it’s unfortunate that Tesla is not as transparent with delivery times. I hope for the future they get their acts together with delivery’s because if there were more competition to Tesla, I would cancel my order and go to them since this is ridiculous.

Bloomington?! That’s a hike? I’m from MKE and lived in Schaumburg. Then again I live in Ann Arbor and was going to take delivery in Austin to speed things up. The wait is killing me. Thought about buying one in inventory in CA.
I haven’t had a date in weeks. It’s driving me nuts.

Go Bucks!

Hey if it’s means an earlier delivery I’ll take the drive down!
