At the time of my post, both versions had removed it.Only the already passed house bill takes away the EV credit. The current and unpassed senate version does not take away the EV credit.
Hmmm...I totally missed that. Going to look it up right now.At the time of my post, both versions had removed it.
The Senate put it back in...for now.
Hasn't been voted on yet, so there's probably no official textHmmm...I totally missed that. Going to look it up right now.
Update:
ModelNforNerd I stand corrected on the house bill, I could not find the repeal of EV credit in the text. Could not find the current senate version at congress.gov though.
this thread hardly qualifies as a brouhaha around here.wow, didn't want/mean for my teeny tax pending legislation fun fact to cause such a brouhaha

if you want a REAL brouhaha, bring up the HUD or the lack of ability to tow.

After much soul searching, I cancelled my day 1 M3 reservation. So for many of you, you just bumped up 1 slot closer - you're welcome. I have an MS which I love. I'm just getting more uncomfortable with the ramp-up issues and unknowns on the tax credit. It's honestly not worth tieing up $1k without interest anymore.
My son camped overnight and was 3rd in line here - he also cancelled. He had been driving a Leaf but just moved to a Smart Electric. Of course, only remote comparisons on these vehicles can be done.
If/when the M3 gets into the hands on non-employees I have no doubt it will be a terrific vehicle. It's just not working out for me.
The very quickest (ludicrous) mode will likely always be reserved for Model S. But the Model 3 should have a Performance version available, some time after the dual-motor AWD version comes out.
Why are you delaying?Although I haven't received my invite to configure yet, when I do, I will probably delay my reservation. This can actually mean more money for Tesla even though I will configure with the SR battery. On the other hand, I will load up with PUP, EAP, AWD, and SAS options which will mean a higher sticker price. I think it is a win/win for everyone, especially for those of you who want your car sooner.

I will load up with PUP, EAP. AWD. and SAS (and Performance if part of the bundle). I am an online, pre-reveal, California, non-owner. I think my invite might come up before all those options are available. Why are you delaying?
