Deliveries for new orders now in May?

I just placed an order for a Model X 100D this morning, and while ordering the website said May Delivery. When I looked last week it said Early April, maybe they added a buffer for the shutdown?

I don't see anything in My Tesla as far as estimated delivery, I assume I would need a confirmed order, VIN number, and DS assigned before I would see that? I selected "first available", or however that was worded, for delivery. Is it possible to call to confirm the order before the 7 days is up? Now that we've decided, waiting is hard.

I was planning to get financing quotes from Tesla, should I wait until I have a date before submitting my information? I don't want any quotes to expire and have them hit my credit twice.

Very glad to be joining the family! And TMC has been invaluable in my research and decision to buy.

I recommend following the advice someone else just gave me - hold off on applying for financing until within 30 days of anticipated delivery. That is, if you anticipate your credit score to change by very much in the intervening time. There’ve been instances where previously approved financing was denied, when delivery was imminent, because of some purported change in the applicant’s credit standing.

Shopping for and applying for financing through Tesla may or may not be the same thing. Just be mindful as you go shopping for rates.

They took resources from the MX 75D line from what I'm told. MX100D are still March deliveries.
I dont think so. I spoke to my DS and the most updated info about delivery of my MX100D is around early April the earliest. I think this retooling for Model 3 is going to set it back 1-2 more weeks which push it to late April.

My Tesla rep at Santana Row (California Bay Area) guaranteed late March delivery. I ordered Feb 8, 2017. I was surprised and told him that I had been on these forums and heard of much longer times. He said that because I am in the Bay Area, and because end of March is end of 1st quarter, that they could turn it around like that. Here is the timing details he gave me:
  • The longer the distance from Fremont (where they build them) the longer the wait time.
  • They do build-runs and don't just build them on demand.
  • If you are not near the factory, and if you don't order very early in the quarter, that they build your car in the next quarter's build-run. This is due to build and then delivery time.
  • If you are in silicon valley, and order by the end of the first week of the 2nd month in a quarter, you can get your vehicle by end of same quarter.

This all made sense, but who knows if its true or not.

It's true. All these things been mentioned in the forums already.

Our X confirmed at 3AM this morning (Midnight California time), and we got a VIN an hour later. Anyone know if this is an automated process?

Our delivery estimate is now April-Early May, so maybe a few weeks earlier than I initially expected. Interestingly, when I asked my Sales Advisor about the March estimates for Model S vs May for Model X, he came back after asking around at HQ, saying that he was told that the battery packs in the S and X were different, and that the X packs were being produced slower. That was news to both me and him. Anyone know about the difference? 100D by the way.

Wow. you got the Vin an hour later? I haven't gotten mine yet and mine was confirmed on Thursday the 16th. I guess I should email my delivery specialist? Is there a certain place I have to look to see the Vin I have been assigned? all I see is my may-June delivery estimate. Thanks.

I got two e-mails, with different wording, telling me that my order was confirmed. One was sent out at 3:04 AM EST, sent from [email protected]. The other was at 3:21 AM, but from [email protected]. I then got an e-mail at 4:19 AM from [email protected], giving me my VIN and estimated delivery (April-Early May). I would definitely check with your DS, I wonder if the first e-mail was automated, and if the second and third ones were the result of someone doing a manual assignment.

My VIN shows right in the first page of My Tesla.

100D, midnight silver, white/carbon fiber, six seat, 20inch, high fidelity sound. I didnt get the PUP or either of the autopilot levels. I was thinking of adding autopilot down the road after they make more updates to the software and I also have paid down a big chunk of the car ;-) Maybe they put me at the end of the line since I didnt get autopilot... less profit...

I got an introduction email from my DS today. She said that my X is expected to into production the week of March 13th, which would put my delivery around late March/early April. My Tesla still shows April-Early May though. But I will happily take it as early as they can get it to me!
