6 seater is perfect for my family. Fold down captain's chairs (like my wife's SUV) would be nice, but we have her car if we need to haul large objects. The MX captains chairs are much more comfortable than a traditional folding chair, IMO. They passed the test with my 14 year old, and he's the pickiest kid I've ever met when it comes to seat comfort 😭

Jokes Aside I prefer the 5 seater just hauled some boxes, a file cabinet and 2 office chairs today no way I would want the 6 seater since you can't fold down seats(dunno why they couldn't make them foldable) & I really have no use for 7 seats except for very rare occasions. 5 seater puts the Utility in Sport Utility Vehicle. Some other extras woulda been nice but C'est la vie.

not being able to get the plaid in a 5 seater killed it quite a bit for me. I'd have even taken a 7 seat over the not-cargo-friendly 6 seater.

Thats true i have a family of 5 so no need for extra seating and although emergency extra seating wouldof been nice but thats why we have my wife's telluride lol

Had a friend of mine just bring over a blue model X 7 seater that he was able to keep over night for the test drive. It was a July 2023 build. I’m sure most of these issues that I’m about to mention have already been said before and while recent deliveries do look & sound promising, when you see the issues in person, it’s down right a gut wrenching feeling. I’m hoping and praying our pre-orders are no where near this bad lol. I completely forgot to take pictures as I was caught up in the moment. I have asked for pictures if he is able to snap some before returning. Keep in mind this was a demo vehicle.

The bad:

1: frunk misaligned and looked warped, passenger side strut lifting frunk by the windsheild when closed. Gap wide enough to insert finger. Wondering if this was done by folks not closing it properly on test drives?

2: driver side molding in front of side mirror lifted

3: driver FWD not closing flush. More sunken in when closed.

4: trunk misaligned, large gap on driver side.

5: black Tesla molding on trunk lifted on both corners. Double side tape is exposed and looked weathered causing it to come loose. Why is it taped on?

6: molding around passenger third row small window is lifted.

7: pass FWD not closing flush, door is pushed outwards causing gaps on both sides.

8: molding around pass door lifted and not flush

9: charge port making creaking sound when fully closed as if it’s trying to force close more.

10: weather seal on roof around both FWD looked heavily weathered for a car only 2 months old. Guessing this has been outside is the sun the entire time? Still strange.

The good:

1: It did have HW4 and matrix headlights look awesome

2: Interior was flawless

3: 22-speaker sound system was amazing

4: Standard 20” wheels look bigger and better in person

5: MXLR power is nuts. Especially when you floor it from 30. It was limited to 85 by the dealer which it reach insanely quick.

6: tried the drag strip launch and it was quick! Scared my wife lol

Wanted to pass along info on what to keep an eye out for when picking up your X

Dang so basically same as my 16 and 18 x thought maybe after all this time they woulda figured out how to make a car but guess its better to keep expectations low. They really need to use different material for FWD seal on the roof it's just not made to last both mine failed didn't even replace on 18 since knew would just go bad again. Im just hoping they at least insulated the cabin enuf so I don't always have to play music so I don't hear things rattling lol. Model3 I got one of the doors was painted different shade and rattled like loose change in a tin can. My dads Lexus the solid thump when I close the door and the smooth zero rattle ride experience have to admit is really nice praying I finally get a good one🙏 Please!

While driving around, the cabin felt really quiet
With ZERO rattling. Even going over bumps was no where near as bad as others have mentioned before. The ride was smooth. Inside felt great in every aspect, the exterior has me super nervous now even though this was a demo 😩

That gives me hope had annoying creaking rattling on suspension on both x too went thru hell trying to figure out the problems at service center if suspension and interior is nice and quiet I can live with some panel gaps its part of the Tesla experience hah. Problem is you can check panel gaps before signing but can't test drive it sigh
