Rear windows are 10% I was told by my local shop.what % tint do you need to get on the front windows to make it match the rear windows?
Vin 2023 or 2024?**Update**
VIN: SEP 28
EDD3: OCT 13 - OCT 20
No way it’s 10%. That would be illegal in most states.Rear windows are 10% I was told by my local shop.
Wow interesting. I just got my ‘23 MSP registration renewal and it’s a whooping $1250! I’m going to hold off sending in the payment until right before the due date in December in case they modify the dues.Registered $80k Model X today after ordering 8/31. DMV said their system supposedly reported via Tesla has the MSRP as $120,990, and they could not go by Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement, Monroney Sticker, Order Agreement, etc. So presumably this results in 50% higher registration fees every year for this vehicle. Tesla says they'll talk to the DMV, so hopefully something gets fixed generally so others don't get stuck with really high registration fees.
I’ve read on here the rear measures about 11-12%. So probably 15% tint if you want to closely match the rearwhat % tint do you need to get on the front windows to make it match the rear windows?
I just paid $730 back in June for my 2021 MYLR. And $716-753 the years prior. Wonder what caused the huge $ discrepancy.Wow interesting. I wasted my time doing this with Navy federal since they only approved me for 35k and at over 5%!?i had applied on Friday for Savings/checking account still under processing but they got back to me yesterday for additional document which i shared. Once this account is approved i was told i could apply for loan, during this this time i will check with the bank for the validity period, you are right don't want this validity to expire not knowing the vehicle delivery date.
Only upside to that is that youll get thicker paint n clear coat since its so light from the factory because of the EPA laws or w.e.But to be honest, my primary concern is mostly with the external panel and paint finish. And with those, can generally inspect from the outside. I've had people I know who were given vehicle by Tesla delivery with very obvious significant paint damage that was very poorly fixed in an attempt to cover it up. I just don't want a new vehicle that immediately requires paint rework and multiple panels having to have the paint blended. Essentially becoming a repainted car even though it's brand new.
The benefit for me with opening the car up is mostly to test the door/trunk/frunk hinges also, another alignment check. I feel like the majority of interior issues can be fixed if they are obvious issues/defects and I would be okay with accepting the vehicle with the expectation of them being addressed. Of course, if they didn't want to open the doors for inspection because it's missing a seat or more is another thing LOL
Order 9/3 Base Ultra Red, no FSD transfer or trade-in,Interesting! I ordered on 3rd September and still waiting on VIN. From Michigan.
I’m also in Minnesota. Are you in the Eden Prairie service center? Have you picked up your car yet? Wondering how good they are with letting you inspect etcMinneapolis. Ultra red.
Lol, that's one way of looking at things on the bright side.Only upside to that is that youll get thicker paint n clear coat since its so light from the factory because of the EPA laws or w.e.
Won't have the car for a week or two. Picking it up at EP.I’m also in Minnesota. Are you in the Eden Prairie service center? Have you picked up your car yet? Wondering how good they are with letting you inspect etc
I dont think they would care what the meter would say as long as the paint looks within specLol, that's one way of looking at things on the bright side.
I've been debating on bringing a paint meter to my delivery pickup since you can't seem to always trust Tesla delivery centers.
Yeah, they wouldn't care. But they also wouldn't be able to deny that the vehicle has been repainted.I dont think they would care what the meter would say as long as the paint looks within spec

Have you bought a Tesla there before or ever got one serviced there? If yes, how has your experience been?Won't have the car for a week or two. Picking it up at EP.
Prob because the MSRP for the model S is roughly twice the model Y. At least a year ago it was, and I’m thinking the DMV is still using those numbers.I just paid $730 back in June for my 2021 MYLR. And $716-753 the years prior. Wonder what caused the huge $ discrepancy.
That's right. Got all caught up in this new price reduction as the norm.Prob because the MSRP for the model S is roughly twice the model Y. At least a year ago it was, and I’m thinking the DMV is still using those numbers.
