They have never lied, they just follow the procedures that the EPA provides. The EPA changed the testing procedures for model year 2024 vehicles...

It just doesn't make sense why they might increase MX LR price because it's already right below the 80k cap.

Both can be true. The EPA number is far from reality these days and is a borderline lie, especially for EVs. The average highway speed during the test is under 50 mph. I don’t understand why they multiply the results by 0.7 when they could just run a more realistic test.

Yes, I figured the same because it's right below the 80k cap. However, the hardware changes coming to the X/S might increase the price, at least for some time maybe.
