2500 miles in and my brakes are still squeaky when I apply light pressure from 7 mph to 0.
Everything I've read says it's normal. I take it as a point of pride that they're still squeaky. It means they're not being worn very fast. I have tried a couple of moderately hard stops and that seems to get rid of the squeaks for a day or so. However, they always return. Especially after it's been raining, or after a car wash.
I'll pass.I was getting squeeking and found that it was the parking brakes fault. After using the parking brake to slow the car down a few times it went away. To use the parking brake, press and hold the "P" on the shift lever while driving.
I might run that by the service centre.I was getting squeeking and found that it was the parking brakes fault. After using the parking brake to slow the car down a few times it went away. To use the parking brake, press and hold the "P" on the shift lever while driving.
It's a cheap-sounding squeal, or a squeal sounding cheap.I'm cornfused.
Is it that
Do Your Brakes Emit a Cheap Sounding Squeak?
or is it that
Do Your Brakes Emit a Squeaky-Sounding Cheep?
Yep, do that a few times in a row. You'll probably vomit, but your brakes will stop squealing. So what is the proper procedure again? Accelerate up to 70mph or so and then immediately stomp on the brakes as hard as you can? Or do you not stomp all the way down but gradually?
