Elon Musk Talks: 'Several More Years' at the Helm | PluginCars.com

Musk confirmed that Tesla might have a “high-tech, badass” pickup truck in its future, and that it is starting work on a smaller third-generation car that could offer an electric alternative to the BMW 3-Series or Audi A4.

“We never actually reported what third quarter production will be,” Musk told me. “The only number we talk about is the production target of 5,000 this year. It’s not a demand issue: We have orders for well over 10,000 cars. We’re confident that the 5,000 number will be approximately correct. The production ramp is very narrow as we iron out the supply chain, but it ramps up very quickly. We want to be careful about the quality of each car.”

Seems to me only Elon Musk can wear this title , this year : Nominate a Brave Thinker

From The Atlantic web site : For our annual issue, The Atlantic invites you to recommend people who show moral or intellectual courage.

In our November “Brave Thinkers” issue, we’ll highlight people risking their fortunes, reputations, and in some cases lives in pursuit of big ideas. Over the years, this special annual issue has celebrated scientists, activists, artists, entrepreneurs, politicians, and others. They’ve embodied the mixture of intelligence, creativity, and courage that The Atlantic always aims to chronicle and encourage.

This year, we need your help. Is there a person in your community showing the kind of moral and intellectual courage that can inspire others? Is there someone on the national or international stage you think we may miss? Spend a moment to fill out the form below and tell us about someone who has taken a risk to make a difference. We’ll collect the best nominations and ask you to vote and select a winner. Then, we’ll feature The Atlantic Reader’s Choice in the magazine and on the site, alongside the editor’s picks.

Hello. Will there be more models in the pipeline? We've seen the Roadster and Model S. They all seem promising and look pretty darn good(un-electric car like).

Our goal is to make great products that happen to be electric. I hate the idea that someone would have to buy a bad car just because it is electric. There will definitely be more models after the S and X. Maybe an E :)
