So glad I don't live in The Communist Socialist Republic of California

You might want to use some data to go along with your social views. This is from: List of United States cities by crime rate - Wikipedia

What exactly do they use to break the window?
They sure got the technique down. It takes seconds.

Maybe we need a bunch of old laptops fitted with
those color burst thingies like they use in bank bundles,
get their whole car interior sprayed with indelible paint.

But now be sure to glue your license plate down too.

What are people doing about this?

How about a sensor you can stick on the inside of the window so when there is vibration it can set off the main alarm.
Something the size of a watch battery that just sticks to the inside of the window.

This is very concerning. I've picked up my M3 over the weekend and I live in LA as well.

Tesla also needs to make some advertisements so more people know their being recorded as well. Anyone I talk to had no clue about it.

A dry contact input for alarm installers (and DIYers) to use would be nice. If they want to retrofit it, it could be as simple as just allowing USB keyboards and any keypress (or a specific one would work too) while the car is armed would trigger the alarm. Then you just need a cheap USB gizmo that emulates said keyboard, and has a dry contact input.

Mostly a talisman, but hey, it blinks, costs $13.50 a pair, makes a
very loud screeching. If only Sentry kicked off the Alarm (wirelessly)
in response to the unbearable noise inside the car, it would be great.

Meanwhile they say removing the USB drive kicks off the Alarm, maybe
if you pull your music drive it would work too? Talk about DIY? then
a little Arduino board to act as a pass-through and smart hub for a
music SSD could "pull" the port in response to whatever you program
it to watch for.

I'm hoping in time they'll put more sophistication into the Sentry.

Have you tested the EVA LOGIK by tapping on the window to which it is affixed to see if the alarm goes off? Also, when the alarm goes off, how noticeable is it outside the car?

Yes, it goes off. There's a Hi and Lo sensitivity setting.
Depending on what you mount it with, one or the other
can be usable.

Inside the car the warble is painful. > 105 dB SPL.
At the window outside I got ~ 90 dB. But it's a high
pitched sound that doesn't impress through the glass.
Its only value is to say "you've triggered SOMETHING".

So it's that and the Sentry Screen display that might be
deterrent or intimidating.

There are some stickers and decals on Amazon but it's
hard to find the right size and content. These might be
as good as any.

Better designs for the EVALOGIK circle? The diameter
is 70 mm or 2.75"
