Evie EV charging networks

Article on Evie from Ausdroid.

Lists some recently opened sites (mostly covered above)
Norwood (SA), Lutwysch and West End (QLD), Marrara (NT) and Tralagon (VIC).

But also some soon to open - Newcastle (NSW) to support highway travel north, Kingston in Canberra (ACT) and Darwin CBD (NT).

On the description the Newcastle site has to be Cameron Park which has been sitting waiting ready to open for over 6 months.

BP Kingston looks like a pretty standard dual RTM75 setup, each with CHAdeMO / CCS.

Looks to be pretty close to commissioning as well.

Seems Bathurst is getting some Evie chargers.

Seems the greater Bathurst city will have 5 fast charging sites when announced sites are complete.

The two existing co-located sites at the visitor information center, 6 stall open access Tesla supercharger and single stall NRMA; the 4 stall BP Pulse site with approved drive NSW funding; the 4 stall NRMA holiday park site also with drive NSW funding; and this presumably, I don't think there is any ARENA funding, unknown number of stall site in the council car park behind the McDonald's and close by to the other usual fast food joints.

Interesting that they don't disclose how many spots in the initial minutes (which don't even mention Evie/ Fast Cities citing Commercial in Confidence), or the Final Minutes.

Definitely looks to be a better located spot for those wanting a feed than the Tesla/ NRMA site.

Looks like Evie charger at Dan Murphy's Swansea nr Newcastle is now open.
Finally posted on Facebook today. Sounds like a bigger partnership expanding to other 'key' Dan Murphy's sites too.

Dan Murphy's Swansea in NSW is now home to an Evie fast charger in light of our new partnership.
The partnership with Dan Murphy's, part of the Endeavour Group, will provide public EV fast charging stations at key Dan Murphy's stores throughout Australia, focusing on an improved shopping experience while ensuring long-term sustainability. Future plans involve expanding this network nationwide in the next six months.

They really need to have dual CCS2 chargers on more stalls, given that the RTM75 can support two active plugs.

I spoke to some of the charging providers at Fully Charged Live on Saturday and they implied that on future multi-stall sites, they would have only one CHAdeMO plug, the rest CCS2.

Apparently less than 5% of all DCFC charging sessions are CHAdeMO.

Yeah, I asked the same question at AmpCharge, and it was similar for them.

I can't remember exactly what they said, but as long as there's 'x' CHAdeMO charges within x km or stations, that satisfies the requirements so other stations nearby can be CCS2 only.

At most of these Arena sites there are only two parking spots and two stalls.
Dual CCS2 is really only useful when you have more spots than stalls (and the cables can reach).

Interesting. Can't find any formal announcement on Arena website, but that's not surprising.

That's understood, the point being made is that by the nature of how they are set up only one vehicle can reach each charging stand at a time. Thus there's no benefit of having two CCS2 handles fitted as the second one can't be accessed.

Yep. Stations which support two vehicles charging simultaneously have two parking spaces per station rather than one.

They're Tritium chargers. It's a fair assumption one of them will be faulty. If the neighbouring one can divide its power, that may help, assuming its cables reach.
