I also just got a notification for 2020.8.1
That option has been around since the start.
I don’t have this (2016 P), how do you enable this option?
From the previous update 2020.4.1 to this took me 25 mins. Although the previous updates was a huge download and did take an hour. I’ve been noticing Performance MX get this update before long range or more P Mx owners are more eager to report.September 2019 Model X Long Range. Just got prompted to 2020.8.1.. Took about an hour total to install but it completed.
Was on 2019.40.50.7. So stoked to finally be updated!
Did you notice real world improvement in Recognizing voice commands?Just finished the update. Have not taken the car out yet.
In This update every command has worked on the first try, up until now on other updates I couldn’t get it to even work even after 3 try’s and maybe working on the 4th...but then I just avoid it all together after frustrationDid you notice real world improvement in Recognizing voice commands?
Can you try "Open the glovebox" and see if it works for you?In This update every command has worked on the first try, up until now on other updates I couldn’t get it to even work even after 3 try’s and maybe working on the 4th...but then I just avoid it all together after frustration

Not sure if it's my car or what but the download (decent wifi), and install took longer then any other install I've done so far going back to 2016. The install seemed to stall at 30% for about 30 minutes but did finally finish, total install time was about an hour. Typically my installs are 20 minutes max.I noticed yesterday afternoon that update 2020.8.1 was downloading. It took a long time to download, but eventually got to 100%; then got stuck and was still stuck at "Downloading 2020.8.1 (100%)" this morning. I did a reboot and reconnect to WiFi; the download seemed to reset and has re-downloaded from about 50% a few times, but always get stuck at 100%. Hopefully it will sort itself out at some point!
I always thought the “open the glove box” command was a Model 3 feature. That command has never worked for me, and I assumed it’s because S&X owners have a physical glove box button and the 3 has the digital touch on the screen that is done with software. Can you try "Open the glovebox" and see if it works for you?
