Since it's weekend and things are kinda slow, this tickled my brain a bit and I would like to see the response of your bigger brains here.

A New Quantum Paradox Flags Errors in Our View of Reality

We spend a lot of time here criticizing markets as irrational, especially regarding Tesla's stock price. What if there is question of even more fundamental problems about reality? After reading this I wonder if the requirement to avoid solipsism is really required. Is it possible after death we just wake up and realize life is just a good/bad dream? I know, Philip Dick and Socrates were there already. Also, there is some hope for the many worlds hypothesis—perhaps that is just a flipped version of solipsism.
Can anyone explain how Bob can make a measurement that lets him conclude that Alice's friend must have heads in her coin toss?

so, what is the collapse of the quantum wave function of the TSLA price?
This observer, me, wants it to collapse _higher_
Depends on how many agree with you. I'm one. All this high level physics/philosophy just confirms we are social animals. So much for the myth of rugged individualism, or ragged individualism as practiced at high levels in D.C. or variations in Silicon Valley.

I thought Elon has said repeatedly they do not need nor intend to raise new capital, so I am not sure why this is exciting.
I don't consider an asset-based line of credit to be "raising capital"; it doesn't dilute the stock or create general liability. Maybe Elon feels the same way.

Off topic........So, AlMc is very happy to see Tesla opening a store at a mall about 10-15 minutes from his house!! Being retired (bored?) he might just have to become the oldest Tesla part sales assistant. Something he has up to this point gladly done for free! Christiana Mall, Newark, Delaware. And NO..that is not me in the chair waiting for it to open!!!

For those of you speaking German or interested how the German media does look at Tesla here is a Video from yesterday.

Some important context: The channel is called ARD and by taxpayer funded not private company to allow not biased reporting. So you cannot really call it a Government channel as they are indeed independent but many former politicians are in the board so these people are usually not un biased. However the good news here is oil&gas cannot bribe much with their money and ads really as the taxpayer pays for it.

May sound odd to most US citizens and we actually have two of those channels even but they indeed are different than other. Not saying all good or always balanced but different and independent. BTW all citizens of Germany are mandated to pay for those channels.... yes this is like socialism ;).

In a nutshell they summarize that Tesla is ahead of the German Automakers but also say that all the EVs the German industry is brining out will make the difference. As usual they do not really understand what differentiates Tesla from other, do not look into range and efficiency charging or that none of the Audis, VWs, Daimlers or BMWs brings an "affordable EV to market. Not to mention that they claim most of the car is build from German parts via suppliers which is actually correct but does miss the point.

Software is discussed but plays a minor role. Longer sequence about the e-tron. Finally a positive sequence about a family with an S driving the 1k km Holiday trip to Italy with their S. I did not like how they edited that part trying to make it a negative and tiresome experience for the family although it was indeed positive for them.

I thought Elon has said repeatedly they do not need nor intend to raise new capital, so I am not sure why this is exciting.

Because a lease backed bond is not really raising capital. It's just selling the lease assets with liabilities to others. Pretty sure that the draw down on the warehouse credit facility will be lowered for an equivalent amount. I agree with @AIMc the terms under which these are sold are important as well. But Tesla regularly selling lease backed bonds (twice is pattern, right?) is another huge milestone for the company, even if the terms may not yet be super favourable yet. It's also a first step towards making liquidity available to start offering leases on the Model 3 in the US.

FYI regarding the new General Counsel.

Tesla Tapped a Trial Lawyer as GC—Here's What That Could Mean | Corporate Counsel

Tesla Tapped a Trial Lawyer as GC—Here's What That Could Mean

Last week, troubled auto company Tesla announced that a trial lawyer Dane Butswinkas will become its general counsel. It’s a move that’s uncommon, but not entirely unheard of.

John Gilmore, co-founder and managing partner at consulting firm BarkerGilmore, said about one in seven of the GCs his firm’s placed have been litigators. More often, companies seek corporate lawyers, he said.

“But if there’s a company that is dealing with some sort of regulatory issues or some sort of large class actions, the board definitely actively seeks someone with that litigation background who they know will manage the matter through the end,” Gilmore said.

He said many companies in highly regulated industries, like finance and transportation, look for litigators to lead the legal team. Uber Technologies Inc., for instance, brought on former Associate Attorney General of the United States Tony West as general counsel in 2017 after a year of litigation around trade secrets, data breaches and more.

Tesla’s trial lawyer pick comes after a settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and a series of suits against CEO Elon Musk over his tweets claiming funding was secured to take the company private at $420 a share.

In a statement last week, Butswinkas said he “never imagined joining a company in-house. But Tesla presents a unique and inspiring opportunity.”

Gilmore said litigators may have less business experience than corporate lawyers, but they’re often able to catch up fast and tap into outside networks.

“Companies, they’re hiring these litigators, and they’re able to quickly understand the securities and governance work and … they know how to hire the right people to do the work underneath them,” he said. ”I think the bottom line is everyone should be open to the person and their leadership abilities and there risk tolerance.”

Jamy Sullivan, the executive director of Robert Half Legal, said litigators can also bring a unique set of skills to the GC role. Companies may want a trial lawyer in-house if they predict litigation is coming their way because they bring a new perspective and can help maintain costs, she said.

“If it’s a company that’s in a litigious perspective they will look for an individual that maybe understands ediscovery really well,” she said.

Sullivan added trial lawyers may have more experience with e-discovery tools, the use of which can help limit costs during heavy litigation periods. Hiring a litigator in-house can also help a company save on outside counsel fees, she said.

In addition, Litigators can further help mitigate risks that lead to litigation in areas such as employment law or cybersecurity.

“When they have a huge risk or a huge litigation that comes up, they still can partner with that outside counsel for more substantive matters,” Sullivan said. “It’s more of a balance of being strategic from a corporate perspective, of what can we still keep in house versus always having to outsource everything.”

However, despite their specialized skill sets, Gilmore said lawyers with litigation backgrounds are still less sought after than corporate counterparts. “In comparison to corporate lawyers, there’s not as many opportunities,” he said.
