Help: 50amp 240v limiting to 32 amp only

Just installed black signature wall connector, on a 50A breaker on the sub panel (with the selector pin properly set to #8 for 50A breaker).
According to this chart Wall Connector the Model 3 should charge at 40A and add 37mi/h range, but the car shows only 32A max (approx 28-29mi/h).

Is this right? Why can't I charge at 40A?
Dis you set the wall charger correctly using the rotary amp settings and have you checked that you have not set a charge limit in your car itself.

In the US, loads that draw power for over 3 hours need to de-rate the circuit 20%. So a 40A circuit is required to pass 32A or less.
Correct but not relevant. This is a 50A circuit, so 40A is already the de-rated number. As others have said, if this is a lower-trim car, the vehicle chargers will take a max of 32A, which would explain the behavior being seen.
