Don’t want no 19 wheels, did not order them for a reason. If Tesla makes me miss the tax credit, either give me a cash discount or give me free FSD, which technically is higher price, but from cash flow perspective does not cost them anything.

I thought of this as well, but then they would have a revolt on their hands because the cost of FSD is multiple times that of wheels. The people who ordered sooner and got their tax credit would complain about being punished or whatever for ordering early, just like the people who ordered before price cuts.

Nope. Different -> tire size & type, ride quality, comfort level, noise level, efficiency, etc.

No, I meant in terms of how they are producing the cars. Everything about producing a car with 18" wheels vs 19" wheels I would assume is the exact same, they just install one size wheel or the other. So that's why it's weird to me that they "made too many with 19" wheels". Can't they just swap on 18" wheels? Or is there a shortage of 18" wheels being made?

And like I said earlier, I wonder if I can just tell them I'll accept the 19" wheels at no charge if I can swap then out in the future for 18" wheels once they catch up on orders.

Interesting to hear. I found some people on reddit who had this happen to them too with white interior. At least this means that they DO plan on producing a car for you soon (hopefully). I really hope they make it up to those who got changed. That is really frustruating.

They didn't "make it up" to me when I called today, they just changed my order back to 18" wheels and then emailed me saying "we updated your order".

Yes the image changed. That was what tipped me off.
Okay. So Tesla called me about the 19" wheels. They said that they made more of that configuration than the 18" aero versions so they will do a free upgrade to 19" wheels and get my car before the end of the month didn't really do a solid guarantee but they mentioned that there was a very slim chance if I changed to 18" aero now that I would get it before the end of the month.

They said the discount will be reflected during the final paperwork.

When you say Tesla called who called was it your sales advisor or someone from corporate or someone from delivery?

I emailed my sales advisor and she cant figure out and she said it was some kind of glitch. I'll take the 19 for free.

I'll call and talk to her in person next time to see if this offer is true.

What store are you working with? I'm working with Pasadena store.

I'm through pasadena store as well. Ordered May 22, White/black, aero, FSD. Nothing yet other than sales chap figures they are making a batch this week.

As an update with me. It's been over a week since I heard from my adviser, so I tried to contact him a couple times. With no luck, I went to chat support to have them inform him to contact me as his earliest convenience (this is the third time I had to do this). Turns out this time they for some reason couldn't reach him on the internal messaging system so it looks like he left the company.

I ended up calling my local SC for a new delivery adviser and was met with an extremely helpful person who was on top of everything. As someone who's never been contacted without contacting first (so much so I worry that Tesla won't let me know if anything happens), I was helped and provided more service and attention then every other time I contacted Tesla combined.

They looked at my account, said that LR RWD orders are made straight from the factory and put in a tentative delivery date of this Saturday (6/15) if the VIN comes in or at least touch base. Super nice because the last two times my delivery adviser said he'd get back to me, he never did or was a day or two late. I had a question about financing, my 30 day pre-approval will be up this weekend, and I never got to change my financing amount after my order changed to LR RWD (so the amount due was more than I wanted to take out). They said they'd contact finance to follow up with me on the re-pre-approval and offered to change my financing amount right away (everyone else said it's fine just deal with it at delivery). Due to spotty communication with last adviser I asked for direct contact info, to which I ended up getting the email wrong, but it didn't matter because they got back to me checking in and saying that everything's good with my financing situation!

Now I have a tentative date to look forward to, my financing's completely in order, and I have a reliable line of communication. It's just insane how much this meant to me after being in the dark for so long, it feels like I just got out of an abusive relationship lol.

How do you guys have advisers? I've yet to be contacted by anyone since I placed my order on the 27th. Any time I have a question I call and go through the automated system to get to someone. Once I get a VIN, do I get an adviser or specialist at that point?

I end up talking to a different person every time I call and it makes it a little tough to get consistency when one day someone says he can pretty much guarantee I'll have the car by June 30th, and then the VERY NEXT DAY someone different tells me that she's "not very confident" in that goal.

Most people I think who get an adviser are people who went into the store. I talked with someone over the phone while ordering online so I kinda just kept in touch with that guy. Usually you can just get a point of contact with someone, then continue talking to that same person for updates so there is more consistency. Try calling your closest SC since they'll be handling your delivery. Just ask for direct contact info, I've heard people texting their contacts for updates and stuff.

This sucks as my sales advisor changed it back to aeros. Tesla really needs to do a better job of informing their customers before making changes like this. A quick call or email to confirm any such activity would be courteous.

I agree. I don't want the 19 inch wheels either.

Today, I received the "Prepare for Your Model 3 Delivery" email from Tesla. No VIN yet. They changed the delivery location from my home address to one of the pickup locations which is what I requested initially. I called and talked with an advisor at my local Tesla store yesterday. He felt strongly that I should have a VIN by the Friday. He requested that I call back on Friday if I have not received one.

Update. After seeing the configuration change via change in picture and price to 19" wheels, I emailed my sales advisor at the Pasadena store as she was miffed, changed my order back to 18 aeros. I received a notice of order change and everything looked right. Ppl in this forum started to report being offered 19" for free. I immediately called Tesla number but being 8:15 on, all stores and Tesla delivery center is closed. Fast forward it's 2am and I check my Tesla account, a $1500 dollar discount showed up in my account... To which I believe it to be for 19" wheels, however.... My order is now back to 18" aero.

First off, I'd gladly take $1500 off aeros but I'd too gladly take 19 sports for free if that mean delivery by June 30th...(actually sooner... I have a road trip planned for the 29th).

Here's the updated screenshot
