Congrats, when did they schedule you and when did the financing open up for you?
Everything happened on Sunday, Oct 28. I’ve since had a couple of email exchanges with a rep regarding my contract and VIN. He said today that I have a VIN and that switching to LR now would cause it to be assigned elsewhere and would delay delivery 2-4 weeks. I told him to stick with original order and home delivery so I could definitely get the car in 2018. I’ve asked for the VIN but have not heard back.

Wher

Where does it say we’re drafting up docs? I ordered 10/19 but more complex order:

MR, pearl white, black/white interior, EAP

I see a place to put in insurance but I need a VIN to do that. I’ve only been contacted by home charger specialist. But registration had a check mark. Already answered questions for payment method and trade in.

I called my local Tesla Sales Office and asked about the insurance. They said that I could put in my current insurance and it would be fine. In North Carolina, apparently you have 3-5 days to change your insurance or something like that anyway. So, when I get my VIN I will update my policy with the actual car, but using what I already have for now.

I am trying to unload a car before I order the MR. Do you guys think if I place an order on 10/31 that I will get delivery before year end. I am in Los Angeles. Does color selection, wheels, and EAP make a difference in terms of speedy delivery?
Big warning. Tesla is super unreliable on delivery dates. Do NOT get rid of your only car before you see your Model 3 in person!

Tonight I got an email "Confirming your Model 3 update" saying "Your order has been modified." It was odd because nothing had changed and I hadn't even been logged into my account today. The order agreement was attached to the email. The RWD line item was $11,000 instead of $10,000 but my total was unchanged (suggesting I'm still paying the same amount - I ordered during the short span while it was $45k). The only other change is the order date from Oct 21 to Oct 30. I hope this doesn't set me back in line. I assume reaching otu to Tesla to ask is pointless. Anyone have a similar experience?

did you make a change in your order?

I placed my order on 10/19, over the weekend my wife convinced me to get a White color M3 instead of blue... I was going to make a change but after calling tesla, the Rep informed me that it will further delay my delivery. I decided to stick with my original blue color...

Exact same thing happened to me about 30 minutes ago.

Same happened to me, was 10/18 and now it says 10/30.
But it does show I have a referral code so that seems promising.
Ditto for me, including the addition of a referral code. I'm not sure I like the idea of their arbitrarily changing our order dates from 10/18 to 10/30 if that's going to be one of the criteria used to determine delivery sequence. I guess if they're also changing the order dates correspondingly for orders placed after 10/18, then it shouldn't matter.

Several people on the Tesla.com forums have said the same thing.
Thanks for the pointer to the tesla.com forums. Some of the commenters there whose dates changed to 10/30 said they can now log-in to the Tesla app and, sure enough, I can too! Up to now, it would give me an error message saying there's no vehicle associated with my account. Now I can view the Model 3 video guides and I have my own Lootbox in the app. This, combined with the addition of my referral code on my account page, seems to indicate that progress is being made with my order. Woohoo!!! Oh happy day!!! (actually, night) :)

Another update: got a call from local Tesla rep, she told me my car is here and can be delivered tomorrow (Oct. 31st). She also confirmed that my VIN is 151,555. Will see what happens today...
Congratulations! Wow, that was quick and a nice little improvement over your original Nov. 5 date. Hopefully, you won't get redirected to Colorado to pick up your car. :D:p

While I understand they are working to get out as many cars as possible, the lack of information is astounding. No info on when my car is slated for production, no estimated delivery date, CS reps know nothing more when I call. I love Tesla the wait after ordering is pretty rough. I didn’t order too long ago but the lack of info available is a surprise.
