Model S Delivery Dates and Sequencing

I'm not worried. Just was trying to put a bit of logic into estimating the delivery date (and Jomo is in the same delivery area as me) -- and came up with a few days after Tesla's email states. I'm one of the few here who wants a later delivery only since AZ's state sales tax goes down 1% on June 1!

Looks like my estimate is close to being spot-on. My DS confirmed that delivery will be early June... Specific date TBD, but that's fine...

so much for the batch theory

recieved my delivery button today as well, finalized on 4/26 and delivery window is 6/12-7/3, maybe eastcoast westcoast thing?
Possibly due to the delivery, I'm across the bay from the factory so will get it there. I mailed them last night regarding the window and said I would be out of the country on the 8th for a week and got a reply this morning. The product specialist said it looked like mine would be ready around June 19th.

Hello All - I test drove the Model S last week and was blown away. Put down a deposit over the weekend and finalized the config on Monday - 85kwh / Black paint / black leather / Obeche wood gloss / tech pkg / studio sound pkg / 19 inch wheels / supercharging. Status now is "The Tesla factory is building your Model S". Am super excited.

Any guesses as to when the car would be ready for pickup? I live in the East Bay very near the Tesla factory in Fremont, CA - will definitely be picking up the car there and taking the factory tour.

Mine is about 7 weeks from initial deposit to estimated delivery across country (VA). That was with a 10 day interval between deposit and finalizing. Seeing as how you finalized immediately, and live locally, I'd guess you could be in the 4-5 week range from finalize date.

Congrats!

Finally broke down and called today and they have my car in St. Louis. Sounds great, except that it was supposed to be delivered to Chicago. Not sure what happens now as I am set up for Tesla financing which requires delivery to Chicago. This is turning into a very unpleasant experience. Stay tune for updates as to how they recover from this.

Update; Tesla shipped my car to Chicago and I picked it up this weekend. The delivery specialist in Chicago, Joe, went beyond the call of duty to make a delivery happen at 8 Pm on Saturday night. It was a great recovery, but totally due to Joe's efforts. I immediately drove the car back home to St Louis (325 miles to my house). I got a great education on charging on the road and the desperate need for super chargers. Waiting for 5 hours for an under performing 240 volt 16 AMP charger to load enough juice for 45 miles was pretty shocking. If the trip had been 600 miles, it might have taken a week to get back.

The ride back was great otherwise and it was a really good opportunity to really understand the dynamics of the car. Back in St Louis last night with two miles of range when I pulled into the driveway and plugged in. My 220 volt-40 amp connection put 28 miles per hour on the car and I was fully charged this morning.

I'm in the bay area too and it is roughly 7 weeks from when it was finalized and 'went to the factory' and the estimated delivery day in June. The timing depends on your options and the currect factory schedule but 7 weeks seems common right now.

Thanks. Looks like you will get your car next week - all the best, I am sure you will enjoy it!

Thanks for the reply. Your configuration is awesome. Did you drive the 85 and P85+ back-to-back? I found the 85 to be awesome, so I can only imagine what the P85+ is capable of ...

ZBB - Did the DS contact you or did Delivery respond to your e-mail? I still have not heard anything yet but sounds like ours will be early June as well given that we had the same delivery window so not too worried about the sales tax but I am trying to coordinate the electrical work for the HPWC install and need to also know when that will be shipped.

I emailed the DS directly last night -- contact info was on the VIN email. I also did not hear back from my email and voicemail last week to the general delivery email box and phone number. The DS emailed back and called me this morning, although we played phone tag until this afternoon...

I'm not getting an HPWC -- but I have an electrician scheduled to come out tomorrow to quote the NEMA 14-50 install...

Sounds like your VIN e-mail was different than mine as I don't have any contact information.

YOUR MODEL S IS HEADED TO PRODUCTION
...And It's Time to Start Getting Ready for Delivery
Congratulations! Your car is about to enter production at the Tesla Factory and has been issued a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):
The VIN is like a social security number for your car. It's required to finalize things like financing, insurance and registration. It's important that we get started on these things now because some processes may take several weeks to complete and we want you to enjoy your new car as soon as possible.

DELIVERY TOOL
If you have not already done so, please sign into your MyTesla account and complete your Delivery Questionnaire. By indicating your preferences for registration, financing and delivery location, we can ensure the smooth and prompt delivery of your Model S.

FINANCING
With Model S, you have the option to finance through your own bank or credit union, or with Tesla. We encourage you to get started on this now, since some loan application processes can take a few weeks to complete and we want you to enjoy your new car as soon as possible. Your Delivery Experience Specialist can help answer any questions you have regarding finalizing your loan.

INSURANCE
Your VIN may be required to get a quote from your auto insurer. We strongly encourage you to finalize insurance for your Model S prior to delivery, as proof of insurance is required in several states, or if you finance your car with Tesla.

OWNERSHIP
Please do not hesitate to contact your Delivery Experience Specialist to confirm final arrangements for the delivery of your Model S. A couple of days prior to the actual delivery, we will reach out to confirm the appointment.

My HPWC arrived today. It appears to have the cable hanger with it also. Don't know if it still the model that's been plagued by the fuse problem...does anybody know if that's been rectified with newer chargers and if so how to tell?

Interestingly, my final payment was also completed today, so Tesla is obviously sending them out prior to completing the purchase process...but given that they had $5K of my money, I guess that's pretty safe.:)

Oh, I also got my delivery date moved up a day!

Just received my final paperwork and payment button on my dashboard within the last 15 minutes. My EOL date is this week and delivery window is May 29th through June 10th. Having gotten this paperwork/payment button tonight is it anyone's experience that delivery on the east coast could be before May 29th? Thanks. Starting to feel real.

Met. Blue, Beige Int, 85P+, retrac roof, tech, sound deposit March 29th, contract 4/5, finalize 4/16, EOL May 13-20; delivery May 29-June 10

my delivery window is May 27-June 10 , no payment button or paperwork for me yet. I am in michigan.

Dream is becoming reality!

While we received our VIN on Tue and have not had any contact with a DS and have sent some questions to the delivery e-mail without a response, it now feels a little closer to reality when we came home today and found a surprise by the front door... our HPWC had been delivered!!!

Update: I know that people have recently reported their HPWC came with a hanger/organizer for the cable but I do not see one in my box and in fact there is a paper in the box saying that after February they would start being shipped to existing HPWC owners. Hope I didn't receive an old on that also has had the fuse issue....

What number is your VIN? Is Tesla manufacturing in the 12,000s yet?

Not sure how fast it's moving now but my delivery window was May 8-22 and I took delivery May 7...and I'm in FL. I'm betting you get a call early next week with a firm delivery date before the 29th...

And hopefully you don't obsess over it being clean to show off that gorgeous blue like I have been...I washed it AND my Genesis today. Again. But man does it look amazing polished and clean! I drove my Genesis for the first time since picking up my MS...after I washed it I took it for a spin around the block. The first thing I thought was "OMG, why is it so LOUD?"

Yeah, I was a pscho poster trying to get through that wait...it was fun and maddening all at once. But looking back, it was all part of the whole experience and there was definitely a reward for it all! At least I don't have to share mine with anyone...my boyfriend is very hesitant to drive it. I hope you get the most time on that schedule!

I'll keep watching to see if you get that call next week...
