That would be great. How likely is it that I can get it this year to take advantage of the tax credit?

According to the report from eletreck I saw yesterday: https://electrek.co/2016/11/12/tesla-model-s-demand-levers-price-increase - Nov 22nd is the cutoff for 2016 delivery which is also the date for a 2k price increase. My opinion is why wait? if you know what you want, sooner can only better than later, right?

Obviously you should check with your sales rep and delivery specialist.

Good luck and don't forget the 1k referral credit. if you need one, my is listed below.

Back to delivery of Teslas. Is anyone planning to go to Fremont factory to pick up their car? I was told that's an option if I want it. I would get a factory tour and drive the car back. My sales tax would be teeny but higher (.01%). Might be something cool to do though.
I also schedule to have the delivery at the Fremont Factory. I lead fairly close to Fremont, so it would not be an issue. I did not know that it may impact the delivery date, I will check with my DS if that is the case.

Assuming there is a service/delivery center closer to you than the factory, I think it's worth your time to find out the difference and know your options. Timing is certainly a key consideration, it's might be difficult to figure out if time saved by not waiting for the truck would be offset by bigger crowd at a single factory delivery facility vs. distributed service centers with supposely less deliveries.

Also worth considering is the rare chance any problem found during the delivery given the new AP 2.0 hardware and the tweaks might be needed preventing you from driving it home as planned, I would think closer to home is better if the difference is not significant.

Best luck! ;)

The waiting is painful, so I just took a look at the spreadsheet to see how long it has been taking to go into production recently. Using the Oct-Dec 2016 tab only...
1. Filter out those who did not request immediate delivery. Those are delayed by request.
2. Filter out the P100D orders. Those have been taking a very long time due to supply issues and are not representative of wait times for the rest of us.
3. Filter out anyone who hasn't reported the car going to production yet...

And we get 18 people who have ordered and seen their cars go into production recently. Of those 18...

The fastest anyone went from confirmation to production is 2 days. The maximum time required was 43 days.

The average (mean) time for the car to go from confirmation to production is 14.5 days. The median time is a very similar 12.5 days.

So, looks like it is taking roughly about 2 weeks.
