Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I took delivery of mine this afternoon. It was 12F and lots of technical things happened before the car was warm. The main display didn't power on for several minutes because it was cold. Also, the adhesive that sticks the protective cover to the window was quite stuck on there. Something about adhesives in cold temperatures, I suppose.
There were two other vehicles I saw headed for the Chicago service center (one silver), and the customer previous to me received a delivery in Chanhassen. Two years' wait, but I've wanted an electric car since I was a kid and had a book on the Epcot Center, going on about big, bright futures.

The future is now.

Car arrived in Rockville, MD today, 2 days before DS predicted (2 days after UPS logistics predicted) and I will pick up on Monday. p#5656, vin 3983 gray 60kWh reserved Nov 2011, configured Sept 11 2012 with pre-MVPA delivery estimate Nov-Dec. Confirmed delivery 12/31 with delivery window Feb 2-16. Vin received Jan 18, MVPA signed Jan 19. Told manufacturing finished Jan 24th and on the truck Jan 28. The end of the wait and beginning of the fun is near!

I noticed a VIN of 3983 for P#5656 on the deliveries spreadsheet. Which is the typo?

Congratulations!!
Yes, I love seeing more and more in MN. Can't wait till the warmer weather gets here. I used to actually like winter;-)

Took delivery of my 60 kWh blue car on Friday afternoon. My delivery specialist braved the single digit weather to get the car into the garage. She then spent two hours with me and my wife going thru everything before dealing with the Friday afternoon Chicago traffic. Thanks Julie!! It's been 30 hours now, and I'm one satisfied customer.

Took delivery of mine today in Rockville, as planned. I'd second the comment from earlier that Jamee is great. She spent a lot of time with us going through the ins and outs of the car, and was very patient with my 6 year old, who was way too hyper to sit still for more than a minute at a time :)

Sorry Dfibrulatr - i was way too excited to see my car to really pay much attention to other ones there. There was a grey one plugged in, and i think i saw 2 blues, another white and a brown. (didn't note any vins).

Of course, by the time we left, it was dark, and snowing! Sorta nuts for my first drive, but it did just fine. I was a bit paranoid at first about the width, but got used to it by the end of the drive. My wife (following in her car) said she noticed at least a couple of mercedes and bmw's pull up next to/behind me and take a closer look. The mercedes driver apparently didn't pull up to the light, just sat looking (and with his window open, in the snow)> I wish i had noticed, but i was trying very hard not to run into anything with the conditions the way they were.

:)

Great! I had no advance info on delivery of shipping after receiving a call last Monday from PS informing me my car finished production last Sunday. DS called me last night and I pick up Monday in Rockville at 4 PM. Oakton, VA. Pearl, 85 kwh, pano, air, tech, silver 21", studio, twin chargers, HPWC! #7823, Vin 4118. Chose 2012 delivery but never happened.
