Wiki Model S Delivery Update

2013.02.04 - VIN issued
2013.02.05 - Purchase Agreement received
2013.02.06 - Confirmation of delivery for Feb 15th @ 12:00 PM!

I'm amazed when I read things like this. I got a VIN and was told a week later that it's on the way to my state (final MVPA that or the next day) . . . but nothing so specific as "your car will come on X day at Y time"! With me it's always vague info--and rarely accurate. I must be doing something wrong. ;-)

@Kendallpb: I was a bit persistent when it came to staying on top of my Model S from the start. For example, I finalized my configuration 11/13 and read mid-Jan that lot of people called in for their delivery button so I called in myself and received my delivery button and timeframe. Then early Feb I monitored the forums for VIN issued compared to sequence number and noticed that mine was coming up soon based on 60kWh config so I called in and they had my VIN ready. Once I received the VIN I was moved to Inside Delivery team and they said the car was enroute on 2013.02.04 to Rockville, MD and was able to finalize all my purchase agreement paperwork within couple of days. Since I knew it was enroute to Rockville, MD, I took the initiative to call Rockville, MD and they were able to confirm the car was enroute and schedule my final delivery date and time.

Maybe, you can do the same and follow-up with Tesla team. They were very helpful and eager to help. Good luck!

Thanks, Desai. I should've called Rockville...I kinda feel nervous doing things like that. Then I complain here--silly, I know. But it's really silly, though . . .

. . . 'cuz I got a call this morning from Jamee in Rockville, arranging me to pick up my car in Rockville this Saturday at 4 PM! She e-mailed a confirmation, copying my "Personal Delivery Experience Specialist," Jacob.

Good things come to those who wait, etc. Yeah, I feel like a total idiot now, sorry. But typing this is giving me the Tesla Grin. ;-)

Haha - nice!

EDIT2: The regional manager just got back to me and it seems my car was pulled due to the key fob not being recognized. I am sure they new this a week ago .... oh well. Now I am hoping it comes before NEXT weekend ...

Update: Called this morning and the car shipped yesterday to the Austin Service Center. They were very apologetic that I was not notified of the delay. Should be ready to pick up mid next week!

I'd heard the same, and read somewhere else they're planning on opening all the TX service centers at the same time due to some limitation on Tesla being able to offer a full Ranger service in Texas. Either way, I don't think it's officially open, but they're up to something!

A friend who works a few blocks away just drove by and said that there are bunch of Model S's in a row, all backed in and lined up. So it looks like they're doing something in there! It's wishful thinking that my car is among those, but I might go into stalker mode... :)

Update on vin 4587.
I vented earlier about my DS not getting in touch with me for several days after my PS made the introduction via email.
My DS finally called me! Car is ready for pickup at the service center. Going to pickup tomorrow! Woohoo! Now, i'm going to be totally unproductive at work.
I have to say, my PS Julia was amazing. She was so responsive every time I emailed her. I even vented to her a little about how my DS did not respond immediately. She was very reassuring. She actually did me a favor by telling him my cellphone. He called right after I emailed her. (he did actually leave a voice mail on my home phone on Tuesday but still, that was 4 days since the intro. We expect a lot when we pay $$$)
I'm so happy to be in the "your car is ready for pickup" club.

res #9,853, pre MVPA 12/28, delivery window: 2/2-2/16, final MVPA and VIN 1/31, pickup scheduled 2/8

I noticed the latest VINs are 85kwh's (non perf). I have a P85 and am in the middle of my delivery window (2/2-2/16). Hoping that they do a run of P85's soon so that I make my window!

Mine is a p85 with the same window as you. Maybe yours will be ready very soon. I think mine was actually ready last Friday. Are you picking up at the factory?

same here, though I have to say, if I have to wait a little past my window, I'm happy to do that so that folks who have been waiting for years can quench their Tesla thirst. I almost feel guilty sometimes only having been on list since last summer and already slated to receive the car. it's still on the edge of my seat, even called lastnight to see how things are going, they are getting back to me in a few minutes! this waiting stuff is excruciating no matter how long you have been on the list!!!
Same here (well, 2/1-2/15) and still no VIN....

Yup, factory pickup!

I have a much later res# 12,500ish. I think your P85 was the most recent P85 batch to come out of the factory. Then came some 60s and now 85s.

I also realize I've been waiting a short time compared to most. Trying to be as hands off as I can with tesla because the DS and PS's can't make my car made any faster. Just an email every week from me. :)

Holly ****, just got the call. no 10 day warning, the car is already at the service center and I never even got a VIN. Likely ready for pick up this weekend!!! I just ran the gambit of feelings from frustrated that there was no notice, to nervous about getting all the funding together to absolutely ecstatic that this is actually happening!!!!

Slightly premature to post...........but my Delivery Button appeared this morning while I was talking with a nice fellow from Tesla Product Support. Looks like 4 weeks and counting until I can head to the Factory for my tour and pickup. As with others, TM estimated that the final paperwork and VIN will be ready about 2 weeks before pickup availability. I plan to drive it back to LA (340 miles) using a couple of supercharger stops along the way. My 65th Birthday is on the 16th of March so what an extremely cool B-Day present.
