Ok I clearly could not resist. The order fee is now $250 but F it, I ordered another one!

RN115550xxx Plaid/White/Black/CF/19"/AP VIN: 5YJSA1E69MF439xxx

So relatively new build. It's apparently located in Lathrop, CA so they have to ship it back closer to me. EDD: August 28-31.
@MarcG so, you are not going to be my MSM brother and keep that one?!

Last night I charged my

Last night I charged my Plaid to 100% for the first time since I’ve owned the car. (2 months.) It showed 348 miles of range with no fan, AC or otherwise, coming on. I had turnEd off the AC the night before. What I did notice that when I drove the brake regeneration was definitely reduced. I understand that the refreshed S’s no longer have a brake regeneration adjustment setting but it certainly adjusted down when the battery was full. Apparently this has been the case with Tesla for a while but I thought I’d confirm it still happens with our refreshed cars.
I think it has to be less when the battery is full. No where for the energy to go.

Sorry, I did... my financing expires today so having the MVPA will really help!
I am in the same boat - My SA had me run the finances and it expired yesterday. Was told by SA that would get me priority delivery as my original estimate was july.

Lesson learned here is SA dont know anything so dont take their word as they have no clue usually.

Do all the newly inventoried Model S' available for sale mean that the retail locations will soon get demo cars to drive?

I was willing to take it on faith before but it would be great to at least try the yoke and no stalk driving (which YouTube videos almost convinced me are fine even though I had strong doubts before because I have hung my arms at 10 and 2 or 11 and 3 for 25+ years. The only downside to test driving a Plaid would be liking it too much and buying one from inventory instead of waiting for my LR (and screw my bad back).

I know what you mean. BUT, that what's the wife's car is for, lol. 😜
Oh Rex is beautiful! Dog porn incoming…”Bobby”

I have an order question: If you buy an out of state inventory car, can they collect local (FL) sales tax? When I bought an inventory car in Santa Barbara last week, they said they would have to collect CA local sales tax. I called the national Tesla line and the lady said that most stores collect tax for the state where you reside.

Who is right? Does it depend on the state?

As a TSLA shareholder, I can say that we need a lot more customers like you.

By the way, all these shenanigans are sadly making Tesla act more and more like a dealership model. Very unfortunate.
There are only 49 in the whole country. Not a big deal. They will get snapped up quickly.

I called it! Disappointment. Got a text this morning saying the bumper came in late and they are putting it on today so I won't be able to take delivery until later tonight (instead of 11am today), which probably won't work for me. On Saturday they told me the bumper was on and the car was in their detail booth getting washed/inspected. This delivery is getting worse and worse. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. It will likely end up being tomorrow before I can get it now, and I have to coordinate with the ppf/tint/coating shop yet AGAIN.
The terrible customer service/communication and nightmare delivery continues... tomorrow will be 2 weeks since the first delivery attempt with a damaged car. Yesterday when they texted last minute to cancel the 11am delivery, due to previous miscommunication, they asked what time I could take delivery later that night and then said they would call later to schedule it as soon as they finish the car. No call last night and no call today (they close in 1 hour). Their communication, pre-delivery inspection and customer service leave so much to be desired. It's almost as if they are going out of their way to spoil the new car buying experience.

I bought my 2020 MX in NY but I live in NJ. They just had me fill out a tax exempt form since there is no sales tax for EV's in NJ.

This is a CA thing. Take delivery in CA you pay CA sales tax, then the sales tax again when registering in your state. Good ole CA.

Inventory car doesn't matter. If they transport it to FL and you take delivery there, no CA sales tax.

Every state does it different (some let you take it out of state and pay at your home state)…but CA collects theirs if you take delivery in the state. Hopefully your state doesnt double tip (WA doesnt if you already paid in CA). Your results may vary based on your location.
