I want to know why they changed this. Was 90% affecting the fleet negatively?Different versions of the Tesla software; Release 2023.26.7 and later displays 80% charge limit recommended for daily use if you set the charge limit higher than 80%. The bracketed daily charge range shows 50% to 80%, previously showed 50% to 90%. Currently on 2023.26.8 with the 80% daily use charge limit noted.
I speculate its Damage control. They see the batteries degrading faster than planned.I want to know why they changed this. Was 90% affecting the fleet negatively?
That's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with also.I speculate its Damage control. They see the batteries degrading faster than planned.
I guess the S will get it as well.I have a 2022 3LR, 2023 3P, and 2016 S P90DL. Both 3s got the 80% daily update. The 2016 S did not.
As I said. The true reason they now "suggest" limiting your charging to 80%. As usual with Elon, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the health of your battery, and everything to do with squeezing more revenue out of us.
Does your car actually draw 10kW from 80% to 90%?Not about "more revenue" at all. It's about preserving fast charging availability for everyone. You can't expect to pay a flat rate per kWh AND tie up a precious spot while only drawing perhaps 10kW while your battery gets close to full. It's not a fair representation of the full cost to deliver that 10kW to you.
