just saying that it is not unsafe to press two buttons when you know right where they are....maybe some want preferences and that’s fine but it is certainly not a “safety issue”. Then “heaven forbid” someone says my seat it too hot could you lower it one or two settings. Smh smh smh

Regardless of how it seems to you, taking your eyes off the road and hand off the wheel - no matter how brief - is a distraction from driving and has obvious and objectively measurable effects on safety.

Of course, nobody is suggesting you have to change anything or use the new features. I'm merely pointing out that to suggest it's "quicker" to go mash the screen is to miss the point.

I just wish you could use the wheel down to turn off the AC/heat, instead of the double clicking on the screen.

You can on an S/X. Also, you can just press and hold on the screen (S, X or 3) instead of doing the two different taps on the screen.

Is there a setting for that? I have tried a bunch of times to keep scrolling after the fan level is at 1 and it never turns it off. Or is that only available on the non-classic muscle car era Teslas?

Ah sorry, you can adjust fan speed or temperature but I guess you can't turn it off. For that, you can just press and hold on the screen.

You can certainly turn it on with only the wheel, but unfortunately not off. And you used to be able to hit one button to turn it off, now you have to bring up the display, then hit the off button. First world problems...

this one is one is kinda odd to me. I can roll the same scroll wheel and set the temperature much quicker than using a click and waiting on the voice command dialogue to change it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

MCU1 can do voice recognition. Try speaking some non-command stuff and it usually gets it right. No reason it can’t do the texting feature.

Actually it's a single (long) tap to turn off and single tap to turn on via the fan icon. I use it all the time.

Could it be that they are running x86-based software for natural language processing? In that case it wouldn't work on ARM-based MCU1.

At this point just assume everything is mcu2 only. That way you won't be disappointed when you find out. Whatever measly features mcu1 gets then is just gravy

Yup. As sad as this sounds, I almost don’t want any new features and extend the life of my MCU1 rather than the premature wear of the emmc.

For front seats but not rear. That's buried with 4 clicks and unnecessarily turning on HVAC.

Or if you have Tesla-Screen open, it's one-click.

Assuming the two new games, fsd preview is mcu2 only since they haven't upgraded mcu1 owners yet, also wouldn't shock be at all if the text to voice feature is mcu2 only
