New breed of Model 3 drivers out there.

Watch out because there is a new breed of Model 3 driver out there.
Back in the day, we all used to give a friendly wave to each other. I'm talking way back in August.
I still do, however I'm not getting the same level of response as I used to.
I suspect the community may have been penetrated by some riff-raff
Whatever next? AA patrolmen will stop saluting soon...

Model S drivers also offer a hug. They signed up to it in the sales contract. Some are shy though, so it's down to you to initiate.

I don't know what Model X drivers do, perhaps flap their wings.

We have an original AA Box just along the road... complete with original saluting AA man ... especially for you!

Still wave or flash the lights if I see another M3 and have gotten a few waves from others. Did have a lot of people/teens pointing on streets etc as have had the car since late June and it was pretty rare.

(for those not old enough to remember, AA members were issued with a key to enable them to open an AA box and call for assistance).

Brentford High Street a few weeks back in my Black M3, a Red M3 passed me at the lights near Brentford station.
I've never seen a more excitable human, thumbs up waves the lot!

No it's at a junction with the A708 at Cappercleuch, halfway between Moffat and Selkirk beside of St Mary's Loch in the Scottish Borders. The AA does retain a few and they do the maintenance from time to time. They have no function (the internals are stripped out) beyond a bit publicity creating a wave of nostalgia in those of us old enough to remember them in use (and the key issued to members unlock them). The photo was during a classic car rally that takes place each year. The old guy spends his day being waved at and photographed ... he's nothing to do with the AA he's just a mad hobbyist!

I waved at a Model 3 on Friday and got an extremely enthusiastic response...

And I let another Model 3 pull out in front of me on the way home today and got an a wave AND a blinker flash.

It’s quite the local mutual admiration society....
