Could not wait to get her home and rip the front license plate holder off (no front plate req'd in Louisiana).

Here she is with her primary power source:

The Model S has come a long way in 4 years of production...

I'm not to fond of the white Ss with the facelift, but with those wheels, it's lovely.

I think the all glass roof (which looks black) and the dark wheels break up the white enough to look goooodddd! :)

When I ordered this one I was all about range this time and not top performance. So, of course I ordered with the 19" silver wheels. I debated endlessly with myself and before the 7 day change period was up I changed to the 21" grey wheels. You have to really like them to fork over another $4500! :)

Took delivery just before Christmas of my S 90D (multicoat Red with UltraWhite perforated seats). Lovely drive to Phoenix for our winter break. Just got 'red' back from Xpel front bumper wrap and full OptiCoat. Super happy with my new ride! Now.... waiting for EAP to activate so in a few weeks so I'll have AP on my return trip north.

I *did* get the update with basic cruise control and auto headlights the night before I left, so at least my driving assist was on parity with my 2012 S85!

Happy delivery story. I did order an inventory 2016 S75D with 90% of what I would have custom ordered. Came with the SWP that I thought I didn't need, but my girlfriend likes the heated seat, so, OK, I was salivating after driving my friend's and the test drive with AP1. Down payment on Sat. Dec. 3. The store mgr kept asking if I wanted it by next Sat. I said I could pick it up any day. He kept asking so I said Yeah. Got it Sat. Dec. 10. Love it. Disappointed at first cause it needed all the software for AP2 and it took more than the 2 weeks advised. Then I got on this forum and realized things could take longer. But, I got the 2.50.185 update on 12/31 (actually installed it 1/1). Then disappointment again with the 'calibrating cameras' delay. Then, got the 2.50.201 update 1/11. Thought I'd have to drive 100 - 750 miles before cameras calibrated. Nope, about 20 miles today it kicked in. Was able to really enjoy the TACC. It was spectacular. Couldn't find traffic on the freeway slow enough to test the 35 mph Autosteer. Oh, well, we'll get around to that.

Again Congrats on your car. Looks like we got similar taste as I too ordered the 90D in Pearl white, Glass roof, and 21" grey wheels. I was wondering if you got the ultra white seats (that's what I ordered)...? If so, can you post a picture of your interior and share your thoughts or first impressions of the seats. I just got my VIN, my car is set for a February delivery date. Thanks.

I did not - I got an all black interior. I was worried about too much white but I have since seen the Ultra White interior in person and there is enough black accents that it looks really good. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Thanks. I got my car wrapped at Chicago Auto Pros. in Glenview. They were great, really top notch work. Their customer service was as good as their work. Their prices were about what I see for good quality work. I wish it was cheaper but with Tesla's paint, it makes sense to avoid issues in the Chicago area. Good luck with your delivery! I am very pleased with my car and Tesla will address the few minor issues that popped up. Hopefully when you get your car HW2 AP will be enabled.
@croman Did you do full Xpel? Did you also do any Opti coat in addition to Xpel? How much did you pay for the Xpel at Chicago Auto? I will be looking to get mine done once I get my car.

@bakchod87 -- I got the full front. If I had a ton of cash lying around, I would've definitely gotten the entire cash wrapped but cash was tight after taking delivery. I paid $2k for the paint correction and XPEL (paint correction was minimal as Tesla and Tesla HP did a great job with my car).

I did not get Opticoat and instead got a cheaper coating but I am very pleased with the results. Even after several snowstorms and rainstorms, the car is very shiny and my car has already survived 3 rock incidents (+2 to the windshield including one large one this morning). Its awesome to see your car shine in the moonlight and its quite liberating to not have to wash the car constantly to have it look good.

I initially spoke with Greg at the Glenview location but my actual in person interactions with were with Caleb who was outstanding and kept me well informed about the entire process. Those guys even washed my car for free 2 weeks after just to get a better look at their work to ensure it was done perfectly. Can't be awesome service.

@croman thanks. I didn't know they wrap the windshield too. I got the new all glass roof so I suppose I should get that coated too.

@bakchod87 - I didn't meant to imply the wrap saved my windshield or that the wrap was covering the windshield. In fact, I just have a normal Tesla windshield which seems to have avoided issues thus far.

While you can have a coating applied to the glass, I did not get that. I just meant that rocks are everywhere in Chicago now (and potholes) due to recent cold-warm thaw cycles breaking apart the asphalt. As such, I'm glad I got the wrap because my hood and front are better protected.

Ordered an inventory 75D in December. It was delivered mid December and the specs were incorrect. Very long story. I went home in a Honda Uber. I wasn't happy and I wasn't impressed with Tesla at all.

The Tesla staff wasn't the most helpful. My original salesperson called me, wasn't apologetic at first.

Finally after multiple emails to the factory, I ordered a brand new 90D from the head of the dealership. I was promised expedited January delivery.

On Dec 28, 2016 my order was confirmed with a delivery date of Late Jan - Early Feb. I didn't believe this would happen. Yesterday my Delivery Specialist called me (after a few emails) and said I'll be getting the car in early March. She said the Fremont factory is undergoing a 10 day retooling which impacts production.

I considered cancelling my order overall but decided to keep it. I'm looking forward to my car but I really just want to pick it up and leave the factory. I don't want swag or handshakes. Just my car.

Curious, why is 10 day retooling causing more than a month delivery delay? Any ideas?

Also, when the 100D was announced I emailed my delivery specialist and asked if I could change my order to a 90D. She said I could, but that would reset my delivery date, and I wouldn't get lifetime supercharging. I then asked what the delivery date was, and she said Mid-March. When I asked if that was for the 100D or my current 90D order, she said it was for my current one. I then said I was promised expedited delivery. She responded and said oh yeah, I remember being told that and said she'd look into it. A few days later she called and that's when she said to expect March delivery.

I really love the cars, love that it's pure electric and just an awesome car. I haven't been impressed with any of the people I've dealt with at the company though.

First post here, Picked my S60 yesterday in blue from Fremont. It has been a real up/down ride with Tesla. Ordered inventory car on 8th to lock in free super-charging, only to find out it wasn't local and had to be shipped and shipping took longer than expected, they wanted my trade in to go in before to lock in the rate and I was out of my car for 2 weeks because of that. But past is past right. The car is here!

Delivery experience IMO is quite sub-par. Coming from Audi, I have had better experiences on all my previous cars. Everyone in Tesla is friendly, but kinda cold and mechanical. They are just doing their thing, have canned answers, want to be helpful but not really, and all of them, ALL of them want to give you an answer always irregardless of their actual ability or knowledge on the matter. No one wants to say "I really don't know, I can find out for you" or "Let me figure that out for you".

There is also a sense of "you are privileged to buy a Tesla" rather than "thank you for buying our car" which I didn't like. I am not expecting folks to fall at my feet but atleast show a bit of gratitude to the customer willing to put down a large sum of money in your companies product.

The car itself has swirl marks all over, they have stated that an additional detail should help alleviate most of it, but my confidence isn't exactly high. The panel below the touch screen is scratched, they have added a service visit to replace it. The entire dash and doors are covered in fine dust and was just plain dirty. So much for "delivery detailing"

The guy just had me sign, gave an umbrella and a pen (YAAY, amazing stuff for a near 100k car!) and while helpful in terms of setting the car up with bluetooth and music and the app, was just too "robot" like in the overall approach. There was a lack of human connection in the whole process. When I said "It looks like there are quite a few swirl marks in the paint" the response was "It has been out in the rain, let me get your documents and you can be on your way" :S

The car itself is amazing to drive, regen braking is brilliant, super-charging is super easy and everything seems kinda nice. It really is a drivers car, instant torque on the highways is a beast even on the 60 (I can only imagine the 110).

But the seats, man are they uncomfortable, I have a serious low back ache from them already, do they break in overtime and ease up? I have the MPB seats for reference.

Overall, I'd say Tesla needs to humanize the process a bit more, show some more gratitude and warmth to the customer and maybe learn up on the current capabilities before saying anything in response, and maybe actually detail the car properly before handing it over? I am a tad surprised at the lack of "care" in this department overall with their supposed attention to detail in all the other aspects of the car.

I think you nailed it on the lack of the human response. When I had my issues with the the wrong car at delivery, they seemed flabbergasted and didn't know how to respond and the follow up wasn't very helpful.

A friend of mine has owned a Maserati and is buying an Aston Martin and he said the level of service you get is amazing. A guy in my family worked at a Maserati dealership for a while and they gave the customers a lot of attention especially during delivery.

I had a really good experience buying a new Honda Pilot last year. At delivery the guy walked through every aspect of the car and was super helpful.

The post delivery communication is less than stellar too! At least you have something to look forward to! In all seriousness, my local Tesla just held a monthly get together. I had a family emergency, so I wasn't able to go, but at least they seem to want to do more than they did in the past.
