Though some of those were older/2018 models, right? I’m not sure I’ve noticed any March built (Performance) cars delivered in April, and definitely not any April built cars, right?

I agree.
If it's 4-5 weeks just say so. Don't overpromise with "within 2 weeks".
Again - I think I'm the anomaly, March built car, delivered 4/19. However, it was an inventory car in Fremont.
Another BMW replacement here, 2013 335xi with the MSport Package. Always dreamed of the M3/M4 but found them slightly impractical costly for commuting and city driving (maintenance plus traffic).
Ordered a Model 3 Performance on 4/11. Blue with black interior and FSD. Two weeks is close to upon us and nothing from Tesla.
From the Q1 letter: We believe we will deliver between 90,000 and 100,000 vehicles in Q2. Although it is possible to deliver a higher number of vehicles, we believe it is important to begin unwinding the "wave" approach to vehicle deliveries, where overseas cars have been made in the first half of the quarter and North American cars have been made in the second half. This puts extreme stress on Tesla, negatively affects our working capital needs and adds to our cost structure.
One of my fears was that all production right now is being sent overseas. I suppose there's a chance that an NA batch will be made before a June delivery.
Also from the letter:
Unlike Model S and Model X, we do not build Model 3 vehicles to order. Rather, given its significantly higher volume, we build different variants of Model 3 in batches (including regional versions), and every vehicle that leaves the factory initially becomes inventory. While in inventory, those vehicles are then matched to a specific order made by each customer.
Cool, when did you order it?Mine was also a March built car delivered on 4/20 (into Toronto).
If this is the case then why wouldn't they make the website display accurate delivery estimates, if they know which batches are being produced when?
Because it gets you all excited that it says 2-4 weeks and you go ching ching here's my deposit. If this is the case then why wouldn't they make the website display accurate delivery estimates, if they know which batches are being produced when?
