Picking up this weekend. Still No VIN?

Just heard back (FINALLY). They're scrubbing delivery by one week, picking up next Friday. I told them I have no car right now. They said they'll look through inventory to see if they have anything close to my config that could get me a car sooner. I told them I'd be willing to upgrade to a performance if that can make it happen sooner (I wanted performance but didn't want to potentially prolong my delivery before, but if this is now my opportunity to get one sooner, yay!)

I see the updated delivery in my account, but no VIN.

Anyone get rescheduled who later got their VIN? How long did it take?

For all of you with busted delivery dates - -were you asked to confirm all final details with a specialist? Still have edit button?

Confirm all final details? I was asked to select a delivery date, fill in my loan information, but that's all. The edit button went away though.

Yes, I had everything confirmed, had delivery date and time, was waiting on contract and VIN. 24 hours before delivery I was given the option to "upgrade" to 19" wheels for $1500 and keep my delivery date. I declined, if I had wanted 19"s that's what I would have configured! Tough decision because obviously I would have liked to have my car in 17 mins (when my appt. would have been).
I both hope they offer this to me and don't. I really want 19's but they were not an option on the performance model. I also can't afford them right now but I might do it anyways hah.

If you just show up you might get a loaner out of them.
Interesting, I guess maybe it's worth showing up for, but pretty sure they will call can cancel right before delivery?

Update: No vin yet, bank closes in a few hours, guess I'm out. Starting to wonder if I can just get a full refund at this point. I need to dump a bunch of money into the house due to broken pipes under my slab :( It would kill me to not get the car after this long journey, but I also want to get my hot water back. I would still get a new car, but probably just a new / slightly used volt. Wishing I hadn't sold my volt already! Commuting in my truck is expensive! $120 - $180 per week in gas!

Your $3500 deposit is no longer refundable if they've already scheduled you for delivery. I suppose you could talk it out with them though, or take them to court since they bailed on your assigned date.

If you are getting cold feet around such a large purchase you really ought to try to find out if you can bail out of it.

Maybe a better option would be to change config back to AWD, and use the 10k to fix my house. Then switch back to performance because before they build me an AWD I would probably have enough for a performance model again. Kinda risky on getting the tax incentive though.

I haven't driven the P version but the regular AWD version is fast enough that I've scared everyone I've shown it to.

If I wind up delayed and they give me that offer, I will probably take it. I had intended to get 19" all along, but I talked myself out of it in the showroom when I was ordering. No regrets, the 18" look nice with the aero caps off; but if it avoids a delay, I will reverse my reserval.

Just like many others, I've resigned myself to not getting my car next Friday. No worries because I'm paying cash but I did have a wrap appointment set up that I'll be missing. Hard to get a wrap appointment these days so that's an issue. I'm so sorry this is happening to so many. I'm wondering if "Delivery appointments" before the EOM and EOQ are being counted as "Sales" by Tesla to run the numbers up in Q3?

Does anyone actually know the answer to this question or are we all just speculating, like me :) ?

Happy Trails !

nah I still have no vin, but delivery date is Tomorrow. I wonder what happens if I show up!
You won't get a car -- but you might get them to actually start doing something about getting your car made. It's worth showing up, playing dumb, and being really frustrated. Maybe you'll get the escalation you need to actually get them to make your car.

I got the call today while I was in the middle of selling my truck (on a test drive) both truck and car sold to go towards the tesla. Delivery canceled, but what is worse I have no ETA on a future delivery date either. Hopefully it's soon since I'm now spending like $500-$600 a month on gas after selling the volt!

Luckily I can borrow my Dad's truck until I get the car. It's a 3500 with no Bluetech so all that pollution for my daily commute in the meantime is on you TESLA!

Oh, edit button is still gone though if that means anything?

Was emailed midday on Monday that I could take delivery this Friday. Still no VIN, less than 36 hours away. Starting to think I’m getting delayed. I’m a huge Tesla fan, I can look past this, but it’s a terrible look, they need to get this figured out now. Pissing off so many people!
Same here. Had to go through dozens of back and forth emails and calls to schedule for Sept 25. Got a text today that delivery has been canceled and they will reach out "in a few next weeks" - WTF (P Model)

My cancelation notice was slightly different than the “few weeks” message everyone has been getting:

“I have an update on your vehicle from our logistics team. Unfortunately, there is a delay in the arrival of your Model 3 and we are not able to deliver your vehicle to the delivery location when we originally expected.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. I will have your Delivery Advisor contact you when we are ready to schedule.”
