Have you done the zoomies, yet, though? Or still grannying?320 miles so far. No vibration yet....
Haven't had a chance yet. Will do soon...Have you done the zoomies, yet, though? Or still grannying?
Good grief. Get on it, son. FOR SCIENCE!Haven't had a chance yet. Will do soon...
Since you asked, I have done full throttle pulls almost every day since delivery in 8/2021. I also run it at the drag strip so have hit some high speeds as well. I now have about 28k miles on the car and still no vibration at any speed. How many miles were on the car when you took delivery?
It would interesting to have data on how many "full throttle" pulls everyone has done as well as whether or not they have the vibration. Good chance there is a correlation. If you own a Plaid, you are pretty much obligated to do a full send with every new person that rides with you.
Unicorn... or not sensitive to it. One or the other!Since you asked, I have done full throttle pulls almost every day since delivery in 8/2021. I also run it at the drag strip so have hit some high speeds as well. I now have about 28k miles on the car and still no vibration at any speed.
You're lucky.Since you asked, I have done full throttle pulls almost every day since delivery in 8/2021. I also run it at the drag strip so have hit some high speeds as well. I now have about 28k miles on the car and still no vibration at any speed.
If you have the vibration outside of 40-50 mph, you might have some unrelated issue. That would be good, since it should be fixable. If it is at all speeds, it might be a wheel imbalance.
It's worst between those speeds, but if you're sensitive, you can notice it slightly below/ above. Road noise/vibration etc tends to dull it above 50mph, but if you know you know...Mine is def only between 40-50
Definitely lucky with this. I would lose my mind if I had to deal with the vibration. You're lucky.
Definitely a unicorn. I am very sensitive to all vibration and road feel. Enough so that I would prob not buy a new one due to the risk of getting a Plaid vibrator.Unicorn... or not sensitive to it. One or the other!
I'm guessing tolerance in the body stamping. Some cars are on the good side, some are on the bad side. Or there's something incorrectly assembled in our front motor mounts that puts them too high up vs. the cars that don't have the vibrations.Definitely a unicorn. I am very sensitive to all vibration and road feel.
Can you share the part number. Curious if all SC can get themI started beating on the car this morning. No vibrations so far... The new half shafts might be the cure...

Needs more time, - at least another month. I’m not jumping to any conclusions until then…I started beating on the car this morning. No vibrations so far... The new half shafts might be the cure...

Still the same old part number, but the service manager said it was an "engineering sample" of a new version of the part from the supplier with tighter tolerances. Invoice below. Can you share the part number. Curious if all SC can get them
Was it covered under warranty? I’m not sure I trust it being the same part number. Tesla is good at updating revision/part numbers for any type of changes. Yes, covered under warranty all three times they have replaced my half shafts. Was it covered under warranty? I’m not sure I trust it being the same part number. Tesla is good at updating revision/part numbers for any type of changes. Definitely following this thread.
My vibrations started over 1000 miles. Exactly as described in this thread. Very subtle but noticeable once it’s there. I feel it most from the accelerator pedal. I’ve been following @WilliamG Model S post’s/dilemmas (thanks for your contributions).
I lucked out with my Plaid. Great build, only issue to date is this vibration. Not even the rear tire wear, etc…
