Question for the group: Is it the goal of TMC to drive away any posters who criticize Tesla in any way? Are we only allowed to post how great they are, and not mention the negatives? There's been a nasty trend peaking over the past week to highly criticize any opinion that goes against the party line.
The OP felt deceived by the salespeople. It's a matter of some debate as to whether that's true, and we can have that discussion. Without knowing whether the salespeople were aware of the new hardware, it's difficult to say. (For the record, when taking delivery on 9/23 I was told some of the new cars had hardware for new features already, although it's become clear that mine doesn't). The OP originally used the term "lied", which is what he felt happened. When repeatedly attacked, the post title was changed. We don't need to attack him multiple times over many posts to repeat what everyone else said. This is a waste of time and makes the thread much more difficult to read. Also, the non sequitors make this even harder. How much money he has made is meaningless. The fact that it's inventory is meaningless.
Whether or not the salespeople lied is meaningful. From my experience, I believe that they DID know about the new features, since other Tesla employees knew, and they simply wanted to sell this inventory car, so they answered his question in a way that was technically truthful, but practically dishonest. I think misinformed is much too weak a statement, since it is possible he was deliberately misinformed, or at least, knowingly misinformed.

Nope. Cruise control stalk was one of the last things to be noticed. The sensors and the lane departure and speed assist were noticed first as being active on a car (on 9/22). It wasn't until a few days later that the picture of the cruise control stalk having the ACC knob was posted. I'd say by the afternoon of 9/24 it was clear that the sensors were legit and were being included on all newer cars. There was some confusion if the poster with the features was just showing pictures from a test car or something until that point.
I stand corrected. That was the first one I heard about, so I must have read the threads out of order. Still, you can't expect all new buyers to check the forums every day for an update about new features surfacing. You can expect the salespeople to know about them though.
