Satonic Soft Close Frunk

Has anybody have experience with the new Satonic Soft Close Frunk kit? From what I can see, the soft close mechanism doesn't involve the latch spring or cable. Supposedly, the mechanism closes the hood and then releases. I would assume this would reduce any issues about the hood getting stuck.

I've just installed the Satonic soft frunk close kit V2 & written a few comments here.

I wonder whether it's possible to merge the two threads?

I couldn't open my frunk today to add more washer fluid. It would only open an inch, barely enough to get a couple of fingers in.

The sticker is: I have the stock MY frunk. It probably was related to the ice and slop I drove through for a couple of hours today. After I got home (200+ miles), I was able to open it and fill the reservoir.

My point is, the frunk can have issues opening without installing something more complex.

Yes and this worries me with the thing I just installed. Might be okay here in Sydney, but what’s going to happen when we drive to the snowfields in winter, especially when I have potential skeptics in the car with me.

Cross posting from another thread. Below is a recent installation of the V2. It’s easy enough for 1 person to install. Mounting is important since the enclosed motor is bigger. Hopefully video below helps.
