SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Hi all. I am new the community. Earlier this week, I put in an order for a RWD base M3 and got a delivery estimate between Dec 1st and Dec 31st. The Fed is likely going to do a few more rate hikes between now and the end of the year.

On Tesla Finance's website, it says that applications are good for 60 days. When I speak to Tesla's hotline, they say to hold off on applying until I get a VIN. How accurate is Tesla's delivery estimate and how long could it take to get a VIN?

With the rate hikes expected, are there any banks that would lock in a 4.25-4.75% interest rate for 30-60 days and allow me to either get the $ deposited into a bank account or work with Tesla directly to secure funding for 72 months on my future purchase?

I would check with your bank. Since you just ordered, it is not necessary to apply loan now. I applied loan after I got my VIN a week ago. I got 3.49 for 60 mos with auto payment thru local credit union. My rate is locked only for 45 days.

Sad news. My wife was driving back from work today, day after delivery, and was rear-ended on the highway in what would turn out to be a six car crash.

Thankfully, Tesla Tyson kept my wife safe and she was not hurt. Unfortunately, Tyson will be going to Tesla heaven.

Same in southern CA and similar specs as yours except my exterior is white. My OD was May 4. I received my VIN and text for scheduling delivery on the same day this Monday (10/24). I immediately scheduled for delivery to my home on 10/31. Did you receive any calls from Tesla delivery team yet? I haven't and I didn't receive any texts regarding my car leaving the factory. I am worried that my delivery would be delayed...

I did not get any calls from them. Initially they said they would do the home delivery and I texted to my SA to change to in person delivery. I want to inspect the car before I give my hard-earned money to them

If you get a VIN and delivery text in the same day, I wonder if it was someone falls thru the loan or they cancelled the order and it gets assigned to you.

Are you far from any delivery center in so. Ca? I don’t like to take the home delivery as I want to be able to inspect in person first.

Interesting. I tried looking at the dashcam video of the crash and nothing. There is no footage on the drive of anything, let alone the crash.

My wife pulled the drive out of the glove box before the car was towed away.

I noticed my dash Cam wasn’t working too. I just formatted the flash drive and everything is working now.

Here's a weird delivery window update.

I ordered on September 20. After a few days, my delivery window changed to between December 4 and December 31. It's remained this window up until today.

Today, my delivery window finally changed, but it now says between October and December. No date window. Very strange. I know the delivery window will change and fluctuate, but usually narrows as you get closer. This is a wide window (though not technically further out) with no specific dates.

Any ideas what this means?
