Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Just was updated to 2019.20.2.1 today i supercharged to 90%. The temperature on the dash said 102 degrees. I got 227 miles, which is actually a tiny bit higher than normal (225-226). My battery pack is a 2012 refurb, no idea when it was installed, but being a 2012 - I assume a long time ago. So my range is 227/.9 or 252 at 100, which equates to 95% of original range. I am a few miles shy of 100K. I got the car at 2018.50.6 - and the charging\ battery data has been the same across this now 4th software update for me. Seen no change in either charger ramping, top charge rate or range. Not that the updates have not changed behavior in others cars, it is not every car, of the parameters which are causing the effects seen are not present on my car. Of course next week it may change, but here is another data point.

Could you post some screenshots of your CAN bus data from Scan My Tesla, TM-Spy, or both? It would be interesting to see it from a car like yours that has been apparently affected by the recent updates. Post #115 from sorka in this thread is a good example of both types of data.
The first is TMSpy. The other 2 are from ScanMyTesla. There is much more detailed information available from ScanMyTesla.

That is good news for you!

Ludicrous 0-60 pull at 95%SOC today, 90F battery temp:

420kW divided by 275V is just around 1525A.

Voltage sag should be less with Max Battery, correct? Is 275V about right under these circumstances?

Good, so at least they haven't cut down peak power. There's still some concern that they've change the power curve resulting in less power early on but we'd only be able to determine that comparing curves of similarly charged cars with similar battery temperatures.

275 volts is great for a 90F battery. Max battery ready would show about 299 volts if you had a nearly new battery at 1525 amps at 90%. 95% doesn't seem to make a difference vs 90%.

@SmartElectric , care to comment on why you disagree with my statement that the P85DL makes 1525 amps????

That's almost exactly what I'm seeing roughly 225 to 227 at 90% And anywhere from 250 to 253 at 100% also 2012 S 85 with a replaced battery pack about a year before I got the car currently at 88,000 miles.

Would you provide a before/after detail? That would help as I just updated to 2019.20.2.1 with no adjustment to the previous RM (have not charged yet).

When I uploaded 2019.16.2 my charging was slowed, it took 2 hours to charge from 90 to 99% at 40 amps. Supercharging was slowed also from 90 to 99%. It would not go to 100%. I also lost 3 miles of range but that could be an effect of not going to 100%. I got several notifications to contact Tesla service, they checked and stated my Model S was operating within normal parameters. Yesterday I got 2019.20.2.1 and uploaded. Once that was done I timed the charging from 90 to 100% at 40 amps with a stopwatch. The time was back to what it was before I uploaded 2019.16.2 and I can now go to 100%.

Thanks. Did you get your 3 miles back?

Also, 3 miles loss doesn't come close to the severe degradation other owners are experiencing. Example: my loss is 30 miles.
