Could be anything.

I cruised by the Ross Park Mall today to visit the Tesla Store in the mall. While there, I talked to one of the employees, and he mentioned 6 new superchargers being put in at a nearby Sheetz. So having nothing better to do, I hopped in my '11 Challenger R/T and rolled up the road about 9 miles to go see it. It's about 1/4 mile west of the Route 79 / Route 910 intersection.

Sure enough, they were being built. I asked the workers if they had plans to build more at other Sheetz stores closer to Pittsburgh, but being workers, they didn't know much.

Here are some photos, lots of big power cables and liquid cooling hoses!

Appears one of the Supercharger cabinets was damaged during shipping (possibly) as they have quite deliberately not connected one.

So unclear if that means they'll power it up with just the six stalls that are connected or if they will wait until they can power all eight.

At least one appears to be a pull-in, but you'd definitely be unhooking a trailer as it would be blocking traffic.

Nice... I'm getting spoiled here. Two superchargers and a service center within 10 min of our house. Our home charger should suffice for our daily needs, but nice to know this one is being built on top of the existing Cranberry one. And with Tesla filling in some of the gaps around Western PA/OH/WV area, it looks like all our regional and beyond travel plans are covered.

Was able to grab a couple of pictures showing that this IS working right now. Big thank you to the white 80D at the Hyatt Southside who mentioned this to me earlier today!

Stopped by a quick lunch as a "thanks" to my local Sheetz.

Didn't really need a charge (probably at about 70% when I plugged in) so never topped 50kw. I'll run down the battery one of these weeks and then plug in with a low SOC and see what kind of power I can get.

THANK YOU SHEETZ

AND NO, that's not ICEing. The truck belonged to a Mennonite (possibly) contractor who was working on landscaping or something around the cabinets.

Had a chance to swing by yesterday evening as I was in the neighborhood. Didn't need a charge so didn't test the actual superchargers. It was prime early evening rush hour and the Sheetz was busy and all the parking spots looked pretty crowded. I could see some ICE's jealously looking at all those unused parking spots right in front (I mean supercharger spots)...o_O

I have some good news

I dropped by one the way home tonight, and

TA DAH

It's working

Screen shot of my 70D Charging - just to see if it was operational.

Everything looks finished to me, but it doesn't yet show up on Tesla's charge map.

Charge Em Up!

I just charged here successfully. Not sure why it is still a construction cone. Everything appears to be working normally.

Also I believe the Nav said the town was Sewickley. Not sure what the official address is but we need to decide on one name. Very confusing with Wexford, Franklin Park and Sewickley all being used.

Regarding the naming controversy, the local municipality is Franklin Park Borough. The Sheetz mailing address is Sewickley, PA. The nearest Interstate 79 exit #73 is named Wexford which is an unincorporated community, including Franklin Park. Wexford, PA Wiki I agree that it is confusing and am curious as to see the official name from Tesla.

I've been using this for several weeks now, glad to see that it's 1000 according to Supercharge.info!
