Well, the point is that they (several) weren’t on the Tesla ‘coming soon’ website until they were completed. And Sheetz on Reddit wouldn’t talk about plans for future SuC’s. So, definitely a different class than the normal ‘planned SuC for 2017 or 2018’.

Oh thank goodness for this SC site! Well, Harrisonburg would have been a tad more perfect, but still...coming from Durham, NC north on US-29 to I-81, the first SC is Strasburg, which is 291 miles...pretty tight, and pretty much impossible for the return home. This is 253 miles which is at least doable (although still tight for the return trip in a Model 3LR). I was thinking I would have to resort to going up I-95 instead.

Looks like construction is done. Still waiting on the power company for a transformer and a meter. Four spots are 10 minute general parking.
It is a big Sheetz, lots of trucks and people. Nice sitting areas outside and inside.

Not via the most direct route, which is to cut up VA-6 to VA-151 to US-250 to I-64, bypassing Charlottesville. Charlottesville would be at least 30 minutes out of the way.

There is a Sheetz on US-29 just south of Lynchburg. This would be practically ideal on the US-29 run.

Unfortunately nobody here knows. It could be today or 6 months from today. Keep checking your in car navigation as it usually updates within a day of when it officially opens.

Note that they only parked in the 30 Minute General Parking spaces. They're just helping make sure Tesla owners don't accidentally pair themselves.
