Ahh yes, J B Straubel, the former VP of Supercharger Locations In Northern Wisconsin.

Local fokelore has it that Tesla was inspired by a 14 year old JB who rebuilt a golf cart one summer in Door County. His family still has a summer home there.

Agreed that it's probably the Target. It's the best place in town for a Supercharger and Target has an established relationship with Tesla.

There is a McDonald's very close. Across the street is the visitors center to the area with L2 chargers.

Well, I was close.

8 stalls (2 PSUs) are coming soon to the AmericInn located at 622 S Ashland Ave!! The chargers will be built on the north side of the building in a currently empty space.

Target was the original location back when Sturgeon Bay was first pinned on the Tesla Find us map. 2017/2018. For whatever reason the property owner killed the deal a couple years ago. Tesla has been looking for a new host for quite awhile. I thought they might be partnering the Grocery store on the NW side of Sturgeon Bay. I’m kinda Surprised that didn’t happen but glad they found a suitable location. Starbucks in the Target is a short walk.

Google maps Street View shows a truck and trailer parked across where all eight stalls will be. I hope that guy isn't a regular.

No kidding. Glad to see it finally happening. Relatively speaking it's a pretty great location for those folks just passing through.

This is very good news. We spend quite a bit of time in Door County each summer and this will beat parking behind the Fish Creek post office all night.

I’ve seen them go in within a week. Just need it for the weekend of the 4th to make it to Washington island. But yes. Memorial Day is likely out of the question.
