More Info: Supercharging.Life database

This is a friendly contest for Tesla owners to track the number of unique public Superchargers where they have charged

- "Supercharger count" is the number of unique public Superchargers where you have charged (just being there does not count), whether or not you were the person plugging in the vehicle (such as a Valet Parking garage or a Passenger) and whether or not it was your own personal vehicle (such as a rental, a loaner, or a friend's Tesla) as long as you were the one who drove >50% of the distance to reach the charger(s).
- The list of chargers in the supercharging.life database are the ones included in the game. If you think one should be added or removed from the list, let us know.
- Only chargers available to the public without special permission are included in the game.
- Chargers not connected to the grid are not counted.
- Doublet locations like the North/South Supercharger 'pairs' in CT, ME, NH, etc. count as individual locations.
- More than 1 charger at the same address, such as Lenox Square Mall (Atlanta, GA) or Montgomery Mall (Bethesda, MD) count as individual locations when they appear as a separate location on the Tesla Nav screen.
- Inactive competitors will be archived and removed from the leaderboard. Just post an update to be reactivated.

See Supercharging.Life database for info on how to post your own visits to the database (preferred), or post your locations with date visited to this thread and one of the admins will update your list for you. All visits must be posted to this thread - not just entered in supercharging.life. If you are the first in the game to visit a supercharger location, please post to the thread as soon as you can so others know it has been visited.

Yes, something must be wrong with that Chart. When I got my Model S in early 2013 there were only a couple of Supercharger locations on the East coast and maybe half a dozen in California..

Edit: The bar chart on the left looks reasonably correct, but the values on the line graphs seem to be off by the number of 'nulls'.

I get slightly different counts from the spreadsheet. The difference may be the way "closed" superchargers are counted - my count only includes superchargers that are still open, so if a supercharger was opened in 2014 and closed in 2020, it would not show in the 2014 count even though it was open as of 12/31/2014, and it would also not show in the cumulative totals for 2014 through 2019 even though it was open then.

Supercharge.info shows 1094 US and 114 Canada open now for a total of 1208. I think our count is higher because they count some pairs as just one (Darien, Milford, Hookset) and we count them as two.

Edit: here is another chart with an added column - showing ALL the opens each year in US and Canada, the closes in each year (all are US - none in Canada have closed), and the cumulative number of open superchargers at the end of each year. Now the "opened" in each year matches Tableau.

The field I used was open date, so it would include any closed surcharges too. I'll eventually add an additional filter for status so it only shows currently open locations.

Good catch. I'll ensure the nulls are removed. Filtering by "open" status will also account for that difference.

To waste a little time this afternoon, I created a new dashboard on Tableau to easily see the growth in superchargers. The tab is called "SC trends dashboard" and you can access it directly with this link. I decided to filter it only to the USA and Canada since that is the "world" most of us inhabit for this game (at least right now). This is what it looks like.

Thanks for the catch. Tableau is updated with an additional filter to ensure only "open" superchargers are counted. It would also be easy to add a feature where you could select any combination of countries to display.

Went to see my dad in LA and picked up most of the stops along the way. Updated the spreadsheet with the following:

7/10:
- San Jose Westfield Oakridge
- Morgan Hill
- Gilroy
- Gilroy Camino Arroyo
- Hollister
- Firebaugh
- Harris Ranch
- Buttonwillow
- Bakersfield
- Bakersfield Corpus Rd
- Tejon Ranch
- Redondo Beach
- Torrance (whoever designed this garage deserves to spend the rest of their life in it)

7/11:
- Hawthorne El Segundo Blvd
- Hawthorne (which doesn’t even show up in the car)
- Hawthorne W 120th (worst parking ever)

I also stopped at Kettleman and used the 250 kW charger there. Is that what Kettleman City 2 on the spreadsheet is for? Kinda weird. I also didn’t realize Harris Ranch apparently has two locations ?

Also driving back on I-5 today was absolutely brutal. Not sure if everyone decided to just drive around due to the heat wave or that’s how it always is, but never again.

That happens a lot on I-5 in the central valley on weekends, especially Sundays. Probably even moreso now since seemingly the whole world is road tripping. I'm really hoping to get my highways back after Labor Day! With my late schedule, I've still been able to avoid the traffic, but I'm not really enjoying $300/night hotel rooms and having to reserve tickets in advance to get into national parks.

I believe we only count Harris Ranch as one location. It was one of the very first superchargers ever, but then it was expanded more recently. I actually stayed at that hotel once. It was very unique and quite nice!

I believe Kettleman City 2 is the one that is going in at Bravo Farms. Don't think it's under construction yet, but there is a permit. Zoom in on supercharge.info and you'll see what I'm talking about.

The total stalls chart is actually misleading and under-reports the true growth in stalls since you are showing the total current stalls for each location. For example at the end of 2012, the original 8 locations had only 51 stalls - they now have 102 stalls, which is what you are showing, but half of those stalls were added in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Is there any way of easily modifying this chart to reflect the actual number of stalls at the time? Or maybe at least add another line showing the original stall count at the end of each year. The relevant columns in the Google sheets are:

H - Stalls (now)
R - Open Date
N - Original Stalls
T - Stalls Upgrade Date

Six more for me.

07/11/2021 Portland, ME
07/11/2021 Farmington, ME
07/11/2021 Skowhegan, ME
07/11/2021 Freeport, ME
05/30/2021 Darien, CT
05/30/2021 Bronx, NY - Bay Plaza

BOOM! Back into the top 90. FLEX.

It's a little crazy to me that there are more Superchargers in Maine than there are in Arkansas. I'm not bitter - just outspokenly observant. ;)

Both Kettleman City and Harris Ranch have nearby expansions planned, so you're probably seeing the tracking of that activity. It's unclear at this point whether they're going to count as separate sites or not (my guess is at least Kettleman City will, because it's across the street from the current location).

Bruce.

Oh that’s why they are colored blue. OK I’m going to remove the kettleman city 2 row for myself.

Edit: i guess someone beat me to it
