Sat in a Kia EV6 today and my hair touched the headliner near the door. I'm about 1.8m and don't have bouffant hair. Really surprised how l little headroom there is upfront.
We actually ordered an EV 6 to move on from Model 3 but cancelled when it went from £10k to close to £30k to swap when 2nd hand prices dropped. Should have sold Model 3 at time of ordering but it was a 10-15 month wait for EV 6 at that time (was 9 months when we got told car was on boat at which point we cancelled for full refund).
I really liked the car and found that there was loads of space in it (to point that my son said that in back he felt a bit isolated). As for headroom, whilst I’m not 6” I never noticed even being remotely close to head lining on test drives even GTline S that had sunroof.
As well as there being potentially a couple of inches difference in height, swmbo did spend a bit if time playing with seat position of which iirc there is quite a lot of height adjustment with her trying to see the HUD properly.
So if you didn’t get to adjust seat height but was otherwise considering it, give it a second go.
We really liked it and felt the cabin a much nicer place to be - except for black head linings combined with smaller rear windows on that particular car. Felt very much a finished car well put together.
Surprised to hear of charging issues. It’s not like Kia are new to EV market although EV 6 is a bit of an electrical step up from the Neo etc.
Certainly mixed experiences with 2 different Kia garages. First we tried were really helpful until point that we went to order then got evasive about a couple of dealer fit options - got impression they didn’t want bother of fitting these to point that they told us to go down road to buy an after market towbar. Second one could not have been nicer and helpful, especially when we went in to cancel 9 months later. They would have organised dealer fit options, incl. tow bar before delivery even if the Kia towbar was fitted on site by a third party specialist.
As we normally keep our cars for their lifetime it was nice to have human touch to be able to discuss options and in second case, actually treated with some honesty and respect. Very different from our Tesla purchasing experience especially when you are stuck with one purchase option where as we could just go to a different garage when we thought we were being fobbed off.
