.... and as for some of us the waiting continues, I thought it might be an opportune time to remind people here that others have waited far longer for their cars than us.

People in the former East Germany had to wait up to 13 years for their "Trabant", as explained on Wikipedia:

"Being a state monopoly, it took ten years to acquire a Trabant,[10] East German buyers were placed on a waiting-list of up to thirteen years.[11] The waiting time depended on their proximity to Berlin, the capital.[6] Official state price was 7,450 GDR marks and the demand to production ratio was forty three to one (1989). The free market price for a second-hand one was more than twice the price of a new one, and the average worker had to wait ten to thirteen years on a waiting list, or, if available, pay more than double for a second hand one.[11]"
Hans got a call from his delivery specialist at the People's Trabant Factory to advise that his order had been accepted, and delivery would be on Thursday 12th November 2033. Hans asked would that be PM or AM? "What difference does it make?" asked the specialist.
"The plumber is coming in the afternoon" replied Hans.

Following the thread for a while now, just made an account to post. Day 1 reservation and Day 1 order of P3D+ in Sydney. No hidden VIN and no calls. Anyone else in a similar situation? A bit worried since im seeing progress for all the people that reserved later.
Similar but in NZ, day 1 reservation and day 1 order. No hidden VIN, no contact and no idea if the August delivery is going to happen. P3- White.

All As I have said before. Times quoted are very similar to what I quoted before for vehicle prep etc. few days ago. Still smiling at people who said no facts and deliveries should be in 3 days after ship arriving. Obviously they have no clue.

And Cap not being 'the one', hidden vins are apparently having no meaning, logistics in Melbourne rather than all through Sydney, all look like being debunked.

It would also:cause battery warranty issues for the car, and the small issue of free power for all at destination chargers, andlegacy free power for many at superchargers. I dont think tesla want to power my car and my house for free.
Most houses draw very low amounts of power compared to spirited driving in the car, so the battery should not get much affected for warranty purposes. Also to protect battery the V2G should be able to be limited in software to be safe for the battery like charging and driving power is managed. The free power issue from destination chargers should not affect Tesla or any other car manufacturers decisions as those can always change and if it becomes an issue, the destination chargers will most likely start charging money for the charge. Free supercharging is not available for Model 3 in Australia, so would only affect Model S and X. Considering the price of S and X, I suspect the charging is not free but included in the price, even if you use some of it in a house.

no pun intended? ha

The blue looks dark in low light/cloud conditions and light when it is very light. I think it looks better without sunlight so imho good for europe but shitty for

Looking at the spreadsheet there seems to be a P3D+ in blue going to WA for another person with a very early reservation. It might be that they haven’t put many fully optioned cars in the first load.

Tesla rang me today suggesting I order a LR AWD, as it has a (slightly) better range than my preferred LW RWD. Mainly due to better regenerative braking. He also said the LR RWD won't be returning, and that I may as well cancel my reservation.
He further advised that reservation holders get delivery priority over non-reservation holders.

Here are a couple of links.

Tesla Range Table - Teslike.com This one shows the LR RWD to be more efficient than the LR AWD. Scroll down the page till you get to The model 3 showing km's . It will show you comparisons between aero wheel covers on and off, range estimated at different speeds, advertised estimated EPA range - whether they are over advertised or under advertised etc.
This page also has an explanation as to how they arrived at their LR AWD figures (They are also older May 2018 figures - I think prior to the extra re-gen on the LR AWD)

( published January 2019) This link shows the LR AWD delivering 560 km range , but he was only aiming at 90 km per hour (Think he mentions it would probably hit 600 kms range in summer) Note: He also went up the Grapevine pass (4000 feet high?) , so all up not a bad result for winter driving.
The salesman mentioned better regenerative braking , which was enabled during 2018 . So the youtube one would have had the extra re-gen .

Haven't seen anything else on a recent LR AWD range test in real life, as good as the Youtube one above.

Hope that helps, let us know if you jump on the LR AWD !
