Got my car earlier today. Been a pretty busy 8 hours since.

Surprised my Dad when I turned up to collect some documents from him in a Red SR+. Got lectured for spending so much money on a car (as expected, and why I didn't tell him earlier...). Showed him fart mode - can't remember the last time I saw him laugh so hard.

The car itself had a very very minor paint defect, otherwise faultless. Only thing missing was the UMC (hope it turns up somewhere in Perth). From the other posts I've read on here and Facebook, I think I should consider myself very very lucky.

Disappointing to see so many other people with deferred delivery dates in Perth. Hope you all get deliveries brought forward from those dates.

For those that have taken delivery, what software version is your car running. I'm on 2019.15.104 - quite an old version. I realised wifi wasn't reaching to the garage, so I've installed a new access point in there, and that should fix it. hopefully I'll have a newer version soon enough.

Also, can anyone know much about normal summon. User manual states its under settings > autopilot > summon. but there's no summon in that menu.

Mine is running the same version. Hopefully something will come through on wifi this week.

I will hopefully get mine before the end of the month and I was wondering about the wifi. If I share internet from my mobile by enabling the hotspot on the phone, would the car with standard connectivity then check and download updates even when on the road? Or does the wifi connectivity get used differently when car is parked compared to when driving?

So picked up the car on the weekend in Sydney, and want to change the plates to the custom ones I have reserved and are waiting at the RMS. Crazy thing is that I have called the RMS both days and they have said that the existing plates on the car are not in their system yet, so I can't do the swap until it is. But what is really crazy is that on the last RMS phone, they told me that I shouldn't drive the car until it shows up on their system as it is illegal and I should contact the dealer to find out what the delay is. No way I am not driving the car!!!
Funny you say that. I have had an issue with some edh19 series (edh19e-edh19x) I know were delivered from the weekend, but the website is not returning much in the range.

Mine is on 2019.32.2.2 from day 1. I think that's the latest v9 software.

My SR+ also can't reach my home WiFi from the garage when everything else (phone, tablet) can. Need to install an extender in the garage.

We picked up the car yesterday. Except for 2 issues. 1 had a scratch on the interior door bit on the corner where you would rest your arm if the windows were open. And other was a dent on the driver side pillar.

I'm the same – red/black P3D+ in Melbourne. I've purchased 3 other new cars in the past (Citroen/Mazda/Mazda) and this is the by far the worst purchasing experience. So much for Teslas being easier to buy than a normal dealership.
It's a launch of a model though. I can't say in their normal operation, things would be any better though. But after being told October, I'm feeling a lot better. At least I don't have to refresh my account for a vin every waking hour.

I am that other person and am currently scared shitless I'm going to receive the delayed call. Although, my home delivery date is currently scheduled for the 10th October and my delivery specialist said they wouldn't be getting the car in Brisbane until the 3rd.
Any call yet mate?

Are you in Brisbane or Sydney?

Apparently it's just that they couldn't get the cars on the carrier in time and they have a carrier shortage according to the DS and someone else also echoed the same thing.

Hi Random206, sorry to hear about the delay. Not sure if it makes you feel any better but your car might be like one I spotted at the service centre yesterday. On the suggestion of a long time Tesla owner and being close by at the time, I visited the service centre (Perth) just to say hi. He also mentioned if they weren't busy they sometimes attend to small issues on the spot. On arrival there was another blue M3 but with a nasty graze on its front right fender (ok, ok, I should have taken a photo of damage and vin)...looks just like what you would get from a mishap with shipping container, or grazing a wall. Now this might have been an owner accident already but I don't think any blue aero wheels were delivered last week in Perth(??), just 3 blue M3P+. For the 38 odd M3 that had arrived in Perth, I have seen two with significant transport damage (red aero wheel charge port I reported on previous post and now this blue one, plus another one that had its charge port open from the trip across Oz). That is 2 out of 38 with transport damage visible from afar. Chances are there are probably more with damage that Autonexus can spot up close. So statistically for Perth at least, there is a greater than one in 19, (probably closer to 1 in 10) chance of getting that dreaded phone call with a delay.

I would guess Autonexus just calls Tesla and just reports damage they see to VIN x. Tesla then automatically delays delivery by 3 weeks or so. One week to allow transport to their service centre and asses damages, one week for parts shipment and one week to rectify. Since Tesla haven't seen the car when they get the call from the third party and thus they can't feed this info to us the owners, all they can do is delay by what they think is a realistic timeframe to rectify.

According to the guy who received his car 9 days earlier than everyone else in Perth, about Sept 7th (the red M3P+ one spotted with picture posted way back in this forum), every single M3 in Oz (at least in the first load) has had the 12V battery issue and all have been swapped out. This red M3P+ was delivered before they were aware of the problem and was delivered with the problem. Owner confirmed this and that Tesla had allowed him to drive vehicle as long as not get below 20% charge. 12V battery has since been replaced. 2nd M3 in Perth was delivered Sept 16th so for Perth, battery swap is delaying delivery by about 9 days.

So, for those getting pushed out 4-5 weeks, it could be there is cosmetic damage + battery. If fixed earlier than estimated (maybe service can fix things without parts etc) you might be bumped forward again (Like some are reporting). It would still be nice if Tesla just told everyone that theres been shipping damaged spotted which is the reason for the delay. However, I think because delivery team is swamped and they have no info at the time they are notified from Autonexus, they simply can't tell you.

The good news is the car, despite these delays and small cosmetic defects is awesome. We've had ours a week now and driving it hard and not a single issue with anything that counts. Also, can confirm for Perth at least, the service team is really enthusiastic and friendly and there is at least three of them here. Wife and I left with the impression that nothing was too small and everything would be dealt with and any issues that arrive in the future will be sorted with the same enthusiasm. Older Tesla owners I've talked to also confirm the service team here is great.

Don't know if that helps or not with your frustration with the delays but it really is worth the wait and I don't think you'll get a lemon.
No thanks for the post mate I appreciate it.
I spoke with the DS and he said it was just that they couldn't get it on a car carrier in time and had to delay it.

I'm optimistic that the date will be brought forward and I've paid my deposit and they will go with a remittance from Macquarie as they're a partner company so, fingers crossed.

They also worked out my final invoice properly. Third time lucky haha.

I'm in better spirits now. They're just doing their job I guess.

P3D-

Software updates were notified without WIFI so then hotspoted my Phone to download (currently 32.2.1)

Summon not available on standard Autopilot, bought FSD, Summon was then activated in App without any software update to the car.

There are plenty of P3D+ in Australia....they just weren't meant for us.....just look at some of the pics users have uploaded...if its got the tiny spoiler on the back its a P3D+.... I 've seen at least 2 dozen pics and the spreadsheet confirms it
I have been pondering about this a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps I could do something about it. Perhaps I could create a drama. There was one thing I could do. But if I did that I had to think about what I needed as the outcome. I wanted the bloody car. So if there was this queue cutting, someone will be disappointed, probably worse than I am now. And it's not their fault. Can I take the car knowing that. Of if it's not true and those that went to all the first day reservation holders, I would still have to wait. So at the end, for me, I would still get no car. Finally I realised that the best outcome I could have asked for if that Tesla communicate to their customers more.

We waited 2 years because we were told that's when the car will be in production. We waited another year because we were told they will come here in Winter 2019. We waited 3 months after putting our down payment because we were told August. And some of us has got the car in August. And all that was sort of bearable. We only need someone to tell us when to expect to hear something.
